The Israel Defense Forces plan to ramp up their offensive in Lebanon in response to Sunday's rocket attacks on northern Israel, which killed three civilians in Haifa and 12 reservists near Kfar Giladi.
A senior General Staff officer told Haaretz that for the first time since the fighting began, Israel plans to attack strategic infrastructure targets and symbols of the Lebanese government.
Other than bombing the Beirut airport to prevent arms transfers to Hezbollah, Israel has hitherto not targeted Lebanon's infrastructure, insisting that it is only at war with Hezbollah, not with the Lebanese government or people.
However, the officer said, "we are now in a process of renewed escalation. We will continue hitting everything that moves in Hezbollah - but we will also hit strategic civilian infrastructure."
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz will meet with senior defense officials this morning to discuss the continuation of the operation.

If Hezbollah has not ceased its fire by this weekend, they added, the IDF will recommend an additional significant expansion of the operation, including the conquest of most of Lebanon south of the Litani River, including the area around Tyre, and a significant increase in air strikes on infrastructure targets. "It could be that at the end of the story, Lebanon will be dark for a few years," said one.

You need to distinguish the inflamed rhetoric from actual politics. For example Lewite said that he would like "to wipe out all" on the other side.Of course I took him with grain of salt, even if were to take himself 100% serious :)
I think that compromise is possible and even more, sooner or later the compromise will be reached as the only way out. Remember my words.

Yahweh gave that land to His Nation, no one has the right to it. Much less to spout threats of wiping out Yahweh's Chosen.

Really? I was not aware of that. The reports I've seen just describe a few minor raids. I haven't seen any reports of a fullscale invasion of the valley, which is what I'd like to see.
I understand the need to eliminate Hezbollah, and I hope Israel does it. What I don't see is how bombing civilian roads and government buildings in Beiruit accomplishes that.
God gave and God can take it back. He is the Boss.

Dear Mr. Kike,
Why, neighbor, punish my entire family when only one of my two sons attacks your family and property daily, killing just a few of them now and then? After all, all he did three weeks ago was to kill a mere eight of your children, and kidnap two who you will be happy to hear are alive, but not well. True, I never bothered to even try to confiscate my son's rifles or ammunition though ordered to and I did agree to, and didn't request police help to do so . . . after all, do you want my family to argue or fight amongst ourselves? Who knows, my deranged son may even kill me!
So, please, neighbor, stop your destructive retribution against my family. If you do so my son promises that he will no longer attack your property or murder your family members any longer, though, unfortunately, he refuses to disarm under any circumstances except one . . . that your entire family first commits suicide. OK? If you don't agree with my proposal I will make sure that The UN, i.e., The United Neighbors, will enforce the same.
Your neighbor,
Mohammed Dumfukinbomer
The problem is how you tell the difference.. When missles are falling.. My thought.. is turn Damascus DARK.. cut off the fresh water.. You know give them something "ELSE" to think about.. Could work in Lebanese towns too.. It is a desert..
Make water available to "friends" of the Isreali's..
Aha! (visualize lightbulb) I am an attorney as well, preparing to meet and irritate interlocutors tomorrow.

Who gives a rats ass what you do for a living?
Not me, and save your high minded "interlocutor" talk for your block party invitees.
You irritate only because that is your personality.
Piss off.

I prefer the "kyke" spelling myself. I am not sure why, except that "kike" is a bit too close to kite, that glorious thing that soars, above and beyond the hatreds of an imperfect species.
Sounds like you've developed "sudden jihad syndrome"...when the mind is overcome with a desire to lash out. I get it too when asked to "press 1 for spanish" or having to listen to ghetto rap blasting away at my local gas station.
I was addressing Torie who happened to have mentioned that he was an attorney as a way of explaining why we might have argued a bit sharply on this thread. He made use of the word interlocutor and I borrowed it to send back a friendly reply.
You attack my work, call me high minded and imply that I attend block parties. Then you say my personality is irritating. You then brilliantly tell me to pi$$ off.
You don't know me so you have no means to offer an opinion on my personality, sir. I have not given you any offense. I despise the very idea of block parties. Before being a lawyer, I was an electrician and occasionally, a waiter to pay for school. I am only high-minded in the sense that I think before I speak (or write), which suggests that you should get high-minded, too. I am irritating when my adversaries play dirty. It is a tactic, not a personality trait.
If you were a gentleman of any sort, you would apologize. If you don't, we will all know what you are.
"Oh the Protestants hate the Catholics, and the Catholics hate the Protestants, and the Hindus hate the Moslems and everybody hates theJewslawyers."
Frankly, I don't believe that's going to solve anything. To stop Hex-Ebola, they need to starve them out, and there's only one way that can be done: take Syria out. Not Iran, Syria. Because anything that comes from Iran goes through Syria.
There's no way they're going to eradicate Hex-Ebola, and obliterating Lebanon will only drive Hex-Ebola into Syria.
I'll be succinct. Brevity is the soul of wit, your post contained neither.
Now your on to something.
