As a retired officer who worked the border over 33 years this will signal open season on our Border Patrol agents. It was dangeous enough before. Why not issue them water pistols? No that might frighten the smugglers.

Thanks for posting the story Norm, I saw it last night on Lou Dobbs. He was incensed and vowed to report on this every step of the way.

Ping for all

Sentencing is scheduled for August 22, we all need to be writing to whomever. Thank you for posting!

The way they messed up is they fired and hit someone with the guns they shot off and then covered up they ever used their weapons or pointed them at someone to kill them.

If they would have reported this, none of this would be an issue, but they didn't and they are in trouble for it.

People might do what they did in other cases to take the drugs themselves and sell it.

If they would have followed the known rules, this would be no issue.

That assumes that they were aware that the criminal was hit.
Why are you siding with the leftists, drug smuglers, and invaders?

I started to respond to "HOWDY HEY!" 6-2-6 but decided it wasn't worth the finger trauma.

Because when you're a professional pirate, you don't have to wear a suit!

Um, civil rights dude.

You can't have people discharge weapons and then fail to mention it to their superiors.

I'd have been courts martialed if I tried to get away with that in the Navy.

Ain't gonna let a BP agent have free license without oversight.

It sounds like the penalty for not reporting the discharge of a firearm is 5 days suspension. An administrative violation, handled by a code. Not trial, and 20 years breaking rocks.

I am sickened by the outcome in this case. I too, am writing letters to our senators, but I can't help but feel as though our voices are being ingnored...I can't believe the jury in this case...are they idiots? 20 years for protecting our border from a known drug smuggler who is meanwhile STILL smuggling drugs into the country and our agents are now afraid of repercussions over doing their jobs. My husband is a Border Patrol agent, so this case sickens me even more. My heart goes out to the families of these two agents....
