Great. Not one US Border Patrol agent on duty will be doing their job after this outcome.

"shooting him in the back violated his civil rights, "

Augh! THIS is like grit in my teeth!! Since when do criminal trespassers from another country have CIVIL RIGHTS? (I'm sorry. I thought "civil rights" were rights we were granted to LEGAL CITIZENS of the United States.) Rats. Wrong again, I guess...

Why is this administration going after our troops and border security? They are finishing what our enemies don't. I am at a loss....

Words fail me. Maybe someone in government can explain how they are securing the border.

are set to be sentenced Aug. 22 for shooting Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila, a Mexican citizen, that was in the USA ILLEGALLY, on Feb. 17, 2005, in the small Texas, not Mexican, town of Fabens

Good news for Osbaldo, August 22nd is D-Day for the islamonazis to wipe all the infidels off the face of the map.

They're not silly.....they are facilitating the movement of goods and people away from those that think the USA is a sovereign nation.

So why do we have armed border agents there for if they can not pursue these people? How are they catching the million or so illegals that the border patrol says they captured (detained) i9f they don´t pursue them?

I guess the border patrol is just window dressing. Sarc

About the style of writing: Why is it that news stories now read like a book. Whether it's a border patrol agent or an illegal who's being sent back to her own country, we have to have a human interest angle included. I guess I'm hardhearted or something because I'm not moved by the "will miss out on these special family moments" inserts. I am, however, outraged and aghast at the seeming injustice and railroading of these BP agents at the hand of those they risk their lives to protect.

About the substance of the article: Surely, there is an appeals court in the future of this case. Isn't there?

"Why is it that news stories now read like a book...."?

It's because they are not reports but mostly just stories to support the reporter's journalist's world view.

I hope the union (National Border Patrol Council) is going to go all out with an appeal for the accused agents. That's what unions are supposed to do.

BORDER PATROL AGENTS SHOULD RESIGN! It's clear the administration doesn't have their backs on this.

It is difficult to imagine how it could be any worse.

Jeez! At least the democrats have labor unions who don't want to see their jobs go to illegals!

Republican leadership has completely dropped the ball on illegal immigration. In fact, Bush's "shamnesty" has only made it worse --perpetuating a "get it while the gettin's good" attitude among immigrants.

No wonder they're fleeing Mexico in droves! They think Bush is going to give them amnesty! And the way he talks, who can blame them?

Her arguments, along with testimony from other agents on the scene and that of the smuggler himself, swayed a jury.

Who sat on this jury? Was the trial even in English?

This makes me so mad. I am at a loss for words.
Rush, where are you? Hannity, ditto. This calls for a mass uprising against this court.
Where in the he!! was this trial, Mexico City? Austin? These men put their lives on the line daily to keep this scum out of our country. And this is how we reward them?
I am going to write to my Senators and Congressman. Lot of good it will do, but I'll try. Both Senators voted to let scumbags like this walk into this country. I have never voted for a Democrat, but if one is vehemently opposed to ILLEGAL immigration, and runs against these two, I will change my ways.
I mean it. We have a better chance of fighting known enemies of the State than we do with these Benidict Arnold's in office.
