Now, those are interesting pictures. Look at the wheels on the gurney that the two medics are pushing...huge...they roll a lot better over rough terrain that way.
Then, check out the bottom picture...the patient in the background...he's lying on a space blanket...you know, with the silvered lining? And look under him...he's still on the gurney with the big wheels. Not sure how they stabilize it, but it's clear that the patients aren't transferred to regular beds for awhile...

Thanks. Gucho has been keeping an eye out for the 542nd Medical Company (Air Ambulance) out of Fort Campbell, Ky for me. One of our Canteeners, CMS, is with them in the sandbox. And Gucho was with the 498TH Dust off Air Ambulance Company in VietNam.
Thanks to both of them for their service to our country, then and now.
And bannie, too, she was dust-off, but GRRRRRR, I can't remember her unit.
