Where in Hell is Jessie Jackson when you need him. Answer, counting his tax free cash flow from the government.

I have to say that I wondered about the rebuilding of the cities and states that were affected by Katrina and wondered if they ever were rebuilt, yet the govt wants to rebuild Lebanon and other foreign coutries, I think they should rebuild American cities and states BEFORE rebuilding foreign countries.

As to LA. well the libs there are getting to be a pain always asking for fed funds.

I hope she is planning on sending 75% of the money to Texas to help fight the N.O. crime problem in Houston!

The headline reminds of an answer to a question on the latest MENSA quiz...

"Landrieu" is to "federal aid"
as
"alcoholic" is to "cocktail party".

Calling the New Orleans justice system “broken,” U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., called on the federal government Thursday to dedicate more resources in the form of U.S. attorneys, and FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration agents to the beleaguered city.

I think this would be a great idea. They can start by prosecuting all the corrupt N.O. cops and politicians. That'd do a lot more toward restoring law and order than going after low-level scum.

I don't know that I would want to have the military going after the gangs in our cities. Not sure about that, but I agree that they are the reason so many cities including New Orleans are like a war zone and have such problems.

Political Correctness prohibits a frank discussion of what's really going on with the criminal element that has taken over big areas of our cities. Political Correctness prohibits mentioning if there is a racial element, an ethnic element, a family upbringing element to the violence in our cities. Sometimes liberals say we should look for root causes of problems, but in this case, Political Correctness prohibits us from exploring the root causes of this crime. Instead Mary Landrieu throws up her hands and proclaims that New Orleans is out of control, as if this just happened for no apparent reason.

In fact, Political Correctness prevents frank discussions of many issues.

Changing behaviors and expectations would help Orleans Parrish more than winning another lottery and media fondling.

I am not sure, but either we do something or we do nothing. Doing nothing, innocent people die and destruction of our cities is assured. Do something, and we pay a price in the ACLU-controlled, NAACP-controlled, Liberal do-gooder-controlled PC media. I know which one I'm going for.

I did a title search and didn't see this posted. If it's a duplicate, I apologize.

A post about Landrieu demanding money from the Feds is always a duplicate. The only words out of her mouth are "g'me, g'me, g'me"

Damn. Looks like the female politicos in my state are giving women in politics a bad name.

Two common female stereotypes are

A. Women are indecisive (eg Kathleen Blanco)

B. Women are manipulative (eg Mary Landrieu)

Mary Landrieu is publicaly challenging Gonzales to fulfill a request that he can't meet... and she knows this.

So when he finally says "no" she''ll go to the press and whine about it.

If that's not manipulative I don't know what is.
