Listen up, in case you hadn't been reading this thread, why don't you learn a little bit about Chattanooga Chafee. Ed Bryant isn't a fringe candidate, he's a distinguished former 8-year Congressman. He also has the misfortune of not having money and actually has to work for a living. He doesn't have the luxury to write out a check to purchase an election wholesale. I'm not calling Chattanooga Chafee a RINO simply because he isn't my guy, I'm calling him an interloper whose views and agenda are far more in tune with the 'Rats.

I've known Corker for 12 years and seen him devolve into a lying little punk. I supported him over Frist in 1994 and saw him make his bones under the worst RINO Governor this state has ever had, and watched him back a rodent for his successor as Mayor, supporting liberal causes from abortion to being pro-KELO.

This race just isn't some little run-of-the-mill affair, this is a battle for the heart and soul of the party. The left has already taken over the rodent party, and I'll be damned if I sit here and give a wink and a nod while they take over MY party piece by piece. You can forget it. Apparently you seem to think it's a joke. You'd better wise up, pal.

There is a small amount of good news. With over 1/4 of the vote in, Bob Corker has fallen a little bit below 50% and Ed Bryant is slowly climbing. It still looks bad, but perhaps not hopeless.

I'm quite familiar with your posting history, and thus discount much of your analysis when you go into one of your all too frequent rants. A shame, you can often offer interesting election analysis, but then sometimes veer into a Gibson tirade quite far from the facts.

No doubt a strong conservative would be preferable, but there has also been signs that either of those 2 would lose in the general, so perhaps Corker winning may be a blessing in disguise. But what is done is done, and what matters now is whoever emerges vs. Democrat Ford.

A lot of people have been posting disappointment with the results, why am I singling out you? Because it drives me nuts to constantly read the whining "I'm quitting (again) because I didn't get my way" rants that is spammed here all too often. DU has nothing on FR when it comes to crybabies. Corker may have his flaws, but in the end it makes a hell of a difference in the direction of this country. Dangerous times with big decisions ahead, less than perfect will have to do rather than pious pouting that allows the Senate to get into dangerous hands. The Democrats would prefer we lose wars if it gets them into office. Why on earth would anyone with a lick of sense do anything that helps them gain power?

Slap yourself and try to put things in actual perspective.
