Well thats why I'm confused now so what's the real deal? This is the first time I've focused on this race, but it sounds like Corker may not be who he is selling himself to be. Yet it seems the majority of Tennesseans like what he's selling but it seems like a majority of Freepers don't.
Now I'm pretty sure the overwhelming majority of Freepers are conservatives but why wouldn't they like Corker if he was in fact a conservative and if he isn't why can't your average Tennessean not see this?

There is a small amount of good news. With over 1/4 of the vote in, Bob Corker has fallen a little bit below 50% and Ed Bryant is slowly climbing. It still looks bad, but perhaps not hopeless.

Well, I don't know about that, but I am a RINO, and would probably have voted for Corker, not so much because of that, but because if he had not won the primary, the race would have move into very close to the tossup category per the polls. I want the Pubbies to retain control of the Senate. Corker will be like Liddy Dole. That is just ducky for me, all things considered. I hope this finds you well. Cheers.

Wow, I'm amazed at how much closer this has gotten.
I orginally said that Hilleary and Bryant's totals wouldn't beat Corker's.
I may have to re-consider that - given the stronger numbers coming in from central and west Tennessee.

fine - just don't attack posters personally.

Ed Bryant was underfunded and the conservative vote was split between him and Van Hilleary. In addition, it's possible that liberal voters crossed over to vote in the Republican primary for Corker.

Yeah, "they" must have had a hand in this since no politician has an ego or ambition.

Yes, you are a RINO and own up to it. I respect that.
Most RINOs here would never have your cajones.
Of course Corker will beat Ford so would have Bryant and he would have been a dependable conservative for things like SCOTUS nominess and the like
unlike RINOs

Tennesseans aren't dumb. Bryant ran a bad campaign while the Corker one was flushed with money. The Corker media buys have literally overwhelmed the state for the past few months.
Hilleary is really the one who hurt Bryant. He split the conservative base. Bryant spent much of the campaign fighting it out with him rather than exposing Corker. Bryant simply didn't have a chance.
Please note my earlier post. Corker's money literally overwhelmed what any other candidate could possibly do. When faced with four names on the ballot, which one do you think the average voter is going to chose? Possibly the one they've heard on TV over and over again, or randomly chose one of the three unheard of candidates? We had low voter turnout too. That affects things.

Don't feel bad, most here think I'm a RINO too.

It has improved a ton.
My granddaughter is going to teach 10th grade English downtown this year. Her first year out of school. I am really nervous.

The polls showed a Bryant Ford race about even, with many undecideds. In this toxic election cycle, and it is toxic, that makes me nervous. And Tenn may be the dam, along with Virginia, against a Dem takeover of the Senate. That means Bush won't get confirmed any more acceptable appellate or SCOTUS nominees. This RINO would not like that. I like troglodytic judges, for reasons I have posted ad nauseum.

They gerrymandered me out of Bryant/Blackburn country to water my area down. Here the Republicans let a man with the name of White run for Ford's seat. That is not exactly helpful in this town.
