I've seen bits and pieces over the last few days and have been meaning to ask your assesment of the situation.
The three southern provinces are adjacent to Malaysia. Since the formation of the modern Kingdom in the 1850s there has been issues because they are the only Muslim provinces in the country (the rest being Buddhist). Still, there's no doubt that Al Qaeda and the like are fomenting lots of trouble because we have some major fairly quiet bases at U Tapao and in a few other places as well as intelligence gathering facilities.
