Nevertheless, to my knowledge it would be the only place Jesus ever used that word and meant something other than a nation, tribe, or people if your perspective is true.

Another thing to consider is that the preterists may be right, in that the prophesy in Matthew refers to the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem by the Romans, which did occur before that generation passed away.
