I am sorry, it was not presented to be a *guessing game*, rather an oddity that Esau was prophesied to have a role and yet he is left out of the whole picture when it comes to discussing Jacob/ House of Israel and House of Judah.

Genesis 25:22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, "If it be so, why am I thus?" And she went to enquire of the LORD.

23 And the LORD said unto her, "Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people: and the elder shall serve the younger."

The law was that the eldest son was the inheritor yet we find Divine intervention even from the womb for these two. Although I have been told that the story about Rebekah is about a conniving wife going against her husband's wishes, as a reminder to women today as to what they are like.

Thanks much.

Agreed.

It's been a long time since I studied any of that out. I don't keep straight the geographical descendants of Esau. Then there's Ishmael and the Persians/Iranians all mixed up in this MidEast drama.

Would be happy to read your conclusions from your studies.

Therefore, your convictions about the above are?
