The Republican National Committee's eCampaign Director -- Patrick Ruffini -- has sent out an e-message to America. Writes Ruffini:
"A group of prominent conservative bloggers is turning discussion into action with the launch of Rightroots an effort to support some of the most important House and Senate candidates of this election cycle..."
A visit to the newly online "Rightroots" website shows a listing of GOP candidates deemed "the most important House and Senate candidates for this 2006 election cycle." Included in this select group: Diana Irey -- Congressman John Murtha's PA District 12 opponent!
The brand new website serves as a collecting house as well. Visitors can contribute to any or all of the selected candidates. As of today, candidate Diana Irey has received the most $$ contributions.
This national highlighting of the Pennsylvania race between Irey and Murtha underscores what BootMurtha.com is saying: Rep. John Murtha is an all-American problem. More and more Americans are realizing this and are contributing what they can in time, talent and money to unseat this congressman.
I was going to ping you with $2214 but you beat me to it. :-)
BTW, Diana's website now shows 1,000,052 hits! It is a great day to be in the IREY camp. ;*)
Anyone wishing to be added to the IREY/Murtha ping list, let me know!
One million! I saw the counter yesterday and knew it was close.
Bump
Wow! Commissioner Irey's total now is over $4,500.
You are making me cry, and that's reserved for Marines ; )
My kids told us the same thing about the house next to my folks when they were that age and also suggested we could build a little bridge to connect the two houses : ) Their Gramp is gone, but God Almighty that's a cherished memory of some of the most beautiful days of our lives.
Geez, if you go on vacation, it's going to take a batallion to keep up with what you're doing : )
All vacation requests must be approved by the ping list.
LOL!
Impressive debut for this site. Michael Steele and Mark Kennedy are also faring well.
Rep. Jack Kingston pledged to donate $14K to various candidates if this Rightroots raised $26K by midnight on 4 Aug. As of 8:30 EDT this evening it was already over $20K, so I'm thinking Rep. Kingston will be opening up the change purse. :-)
:-) That's especially funny because a newby victim on another thread just said I'm a drive-by poster not interested in contributing to anything (or words to that effect).
I'm amazed at the responce to this new site. It's not just the money but the exposure, course it's the money too.
Coop, if you're going on vacation you should designate freema as your relief. :-)
Some of those amounts jumped rather quickly, so I suspect some "real money" people paid the site a visit. :-)
Diana Irey (PA-12) -- $4,569
Rightroots
FYI, though. Donating directly through Diana's (or any candidate's) site will save that person some money. This PAC does take a cut for operating expenses.
Don't be dissin the little guy. Its gonna be the grassroots, not the "real money" that puts her over the top.
I ain't dissin' myself or anybody else. That's why it's in quotes. :)
I see, in addition to Jack Kingston's endorsement, Bill Frist has added his name and VOLPAC to Rightroots list of endorsers. That might explain the quick jump in funds for a few folks. Dunno.
Well, has she lined up the Prez yet for a fundraiser? Now that is a big fish.
That's good news and hope they keep adding endorsements, it'll definitely make a difference.
Ping away, FRiend.....
I personally don't think Dubya would be a good idea. That would turn the race into Murtha vs. Dubya. But I'd love to see Hastert or some other big name campaign for Commissioner Irey.
