Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers on July 12, triggering an Israeli offensive against Lebanon that has killed hundreds of people, mostly civilians.

I'm watching Tony, Peach, and I find him subdued. He's not so smily.
I'm tempted to chalk it up to knowing too much about what's *really* happening in the world this week.

I've finally got a villa in Riyadh. I moved in early June and was there for about three weeks. Unfortunately, just when I was getting comfortable, I had to fly back to Dubai for a few weeks. In between my Saudi visa expired so I'm hanging out on the Left Coast until I receive a new one.
The villa in Riyadh has Fox News, so I'll be freed of CNN/World---the politically-correct leader in television news.

This Hershowitz article that you posted, "What if Lebanon's army joins Hizbullah?" gives some credence to the idea of incorporating the Hezb. militia with the Lebanese Army. I think the reasoning behind that idea is that it would remove the government's ability to deny their responsibility and complicity for/with Hezb. Take away the Hezb. militia (in name) and what do you have? The Lebanese Army. Period. For which the Lebanese govt. is responsible. Thereafter, any attacks or incursions that are made against/into Israel would be the direct fault/action of the government. This has the effect of causing Lebanon to either formally declare their intentions against Israel or to be responsible and stop stirring the pot.
