I joined FR officially (after lurking off and on for a while) during the height of the Terri threads. I always say if I made it through that, I can make it through anything.

I just finished Mark Fuhrman's book about Terri. Maybe I had overly high expectations but it was a bit of a let down... it didn't change my mind about anything, and I'm even more convinced that Michael, along with his attorney and their henchmen, are pure evil.

I was in FL in 1989 and have not been back. We never consider it as a vacation destination any more, but largely because of the humidity. Then the extermination of poor Terri made me never to think about going to FL again. I would though go to SC and NC.

I support killing no one except killers. Refusing to go along with artifical prolongation of some life functions is not support for "killing". Such sophistry goes nowhere with me.

When Terri's father spoke those words about Crist, he was being way too kind. Crist didn't "let Terri die"--he Michael et al kill her.

There are other books now. Mark wrote his MUCH too hastily, no doubt at the urging of a publisher to be the first on the market. He didn't even wait for the autopsy report. It had a few insights, but I agree, it was somewhat disappointing.

If you are going to read more, I recommend Diana Lynne's book next: "Terri's Story -- the court-ordered death of an American woman." It is well researched and written, loaded with factual material.

Fortunately for Michael, the malpractice jury thought she had over a million dollars worth of life left. That's a lot of money saying Terri was not vegetative. Twelve years later, one of the coroners said she could live ten more years; the other, who examined her brain, said that his findings did NOT rule out her interacting with her family. These are official legal and medical findings. One could cite many others.

Therefore, when you opine that Terri's had no "life" (your own ironic quotation marks), you ignore the official record. Isn't that playing God? The way you rationalize killing her is by making up a fairy story that she wasn't really alive. But she was. You deceive yourself.

By now we all know the fate of Senator Lieberman and what happens when a democrat bucks the the Soros/Clinton machine behind the party. He committed unforgivable sins. And behind the scene a little sits Mikey Schiavo who has attached his actions to kill Terri along with other issues of the far left and is embraced for it.

He supported school vouchers, driving teachers unions to oppose him and help Lamont. He questioned affirmative action, raising questions among African-Americans despite his work on civil rights. He worked on a Senate compromise that allowed some of Bush's judicial nominees to be confirmed while preserving the Democrats' right to filibuster. He supported congressional intervention in the Terri Schiavo death case in Florida.

Even worse to voters, he was caught on camera being hugged and perhaps kissed on the cheek by Bush at a State of the Union address.
