Israeli combat soldiers walk along the Israeli northern border with Lebanon. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is pursuing a new round of Middle East diplomacy as the Lebanon conflict moved into its 19th day, with Israel and Hezbollah exchanging firepower and threats in defiance of international moves toward a ceasefire

this is centered on a minaret that appears to be similar to the one shown in news coverage of the town.
There is no building in this town similar to the one shown in the video running on Fox.
Based on the timeline from th4e attack until the explosion, it would seem that Jennifer Griffin, who was surprisingly hysterical, et al, would be a little more reserved in their comments.
As a side note, I just heard dana Rorabacher, noted Arabist, place the blame for the conflict on Hezbollah, with a "but-monkey" following about the fact that israel had left Labanon with Hezbollah intact..
Newt needs to go home, sort out his girlfriends from his wives, ex-wives and future wives.
His cool-as-hell pass has been revoked!

In the last update, the Hez spokesman said many of the children were 'special needs,' too. How conveeenient.
Greg is careful to talk about the time lag between the bombs dropping and help arriving, some 5-7 hours.
He also pointed out that most victims were children and some women. Fighting aged men were nonexistent. And he stated flatly that the excuse that they didn't leave because the roads were too bombed up didn't hold water; that he just traveled over those very roads.
He sure does seem to be speaking in code today. I pray for his safety, he's one of my favorites.
I will wait patiently until he is safely back in the states to hear 'the rest of the story.'

Could be, sleuth. He cerainly is making it clear that there is another untold story here, and that he is being edited while in mid statement by his minders.

And now Babs Boxer, trying to get fobs for MLK's children...

Not trashed really. They are just pointing out how hard it is to find news in between talk of knitting, lost fillings, pets etc.
It is hard to disagree with that assessment.
"So..is the consensus here that this is mainly a staged event??"
Ditto what Txsleuth said, ScaniaBoy.
My two cents - something definitely went down in Qana but the footage we were seeing was not what went down.
None of it made sense.
Some of the information now trickling out makes me wonder if the footage provided to reporters in the region is nothing but a big hezbo photo op. Gee - ya think?
Oops, just as I type that I look up at the tv again and see ripped shirt guy get up off his stretcher and practically run off.
Man - I've got to take a break from this - I've been here since early this morning. Need to finish my ironing and go do some digging in the dirt to clear my head.
God bless America, God bless Israel and may God bless the men women of the US Armed Services wherever they may be.
Read earlier this morning that Baghdad had quieted down somewhat with the deployment of US troops back on the street. May it stay that way.
Cheers - D
Despite the enemy's tactics, he told Rice, the IDF was still operating as a moral and ethical army. Hizbullah, he told her, fired at Israel from within mosques and homes, using civilians as shields. "We called up one home and told the residents that we were going to attack, and that they needed to evacuate," Peretz told Rice. "They fled the home and only then did we level the building. A home whose occupants didn't answer the phone, he added, was not targeted.
Thanks for the maps. Checked them and it looks like yet another coord close to 33.12' and 35.20'. I give up.
Hopefully some one trustworthly will be allowed to investigate the exploded building. I have a feeling it was all done by the Hezbolla and I pray they do NOT get away with it.
I felt this way early on. Even the earlier mob riots on the UN were most likely staged. Too many things don't add up.
Still working n lurking...just took a break and heard a snippet from Jennifer Griffin which struck me as unbelievable- she said the IDF just finished a press conf and they said the bombs dropped around midnight- and no injuries were reported for nearly SEVEN HOURS?!?! His implication seemed to be.........maybe it wasn't their bombs?
back to work.will check in later..
