Why would they? They know they have won.

There something to be said for Hezbollah standing down, militarily they are in a world of hurt.
But they just now got the whole Islamic world wound up over them, so strong and brave, standing up to the Satan twins the way they have...
...and now they're just going to walk away with Israel massacre-ing four or five hundred disabled children? Or was it five thousand, I get so confused?
The Muslims are HOT.
Let that kind of energy build up with no way to dissipate it and they can turn on you, very quickly.
Remember how they took it when Hero Saddam was pulled out of a rat-hole?
I don't pretend to know how Muslim minds work, but I know potential energy when I see it, and that kind of energy will find an outlet if it can, so at the very least, Hezbollah has some conflicting circumstances to deal with.
What the media wants, they always get.

The purpose of the 48 hours is to investigate the incident. When the investigation is over, the IDF will publish the fact that Hezbullah is in the wrong and hostilities will recommense. It could be in less than 48 hours.
I don't put much stock in what the media says.
I do pay attention to direct quotes, and per those quotes, Condi said "It's time for a ceasefire" when Bush was still working to keep just such wording out of the UN Resolution.
There's basic conflict there, and Bush isn't a guy who lets his employees off easy for stepping off the reservation.
The relationship with Dr. Rice is deep and goes way back, so I do not think there will be public hostility or any humiliation what-so-ever, but I also don't think Bush will change policy just to get her off the hook.
If you watch for it, you will see it when it comes.
She was a very young girl too, so sad that this brainwashing causes so much hate and radicalism.
CNN saying Lebanon is now united, as if its a good thing to unite behind terrorists.
