Israeli combat soldiers walk along the Israeli northern border with Lebanon. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is pursuing a new round of Middle East diplomacy as the Lebanon conflict moved into its 19th day, with Israel and Hezbollah exchanging firepower and threats in defiance of international moves toward a ceasefire
Stop posting to me.
Doesn't it also give time for the Israeli's to reload...and take stock..or change war plans...or just rest their soldiers??
I mean there has to have been days in WW2 that there was no fighting...but that doesn't mean the war was over...
AND, Hezbollah hasn't agreed to anything...so, I am just waiting for them to try and take advantage of the situation.
They do support it .. as for this cease fire??
All it will do is prove Israel right to the world leaders .. Hezbl won't stop the missiles attacks
say please
Israel spent decades building bomb shelters in every neighborhood. Then, when the Hez bombing got too bad, they moved the civilian populations farther south. THUS: Israeli casualties have been far lighter than those in Lebanon. The wimps and mediaCrats see this as "proof" that Israel is using disproportionate force.
It's the fundamental problem with liberals...they despise strength.
I'm reminded of their wringing their hands over the fact that YUGOS come out poorly in crashes with big SUVs. What was the liberal solution? Ban SUVs!
LOL...no, and CNN is counting on their propaganda working!
They were all breathless a few hours ago...saying that Condi was "furious" about the Qana attack! Making it sound like that attack has changed the USA's mind about backing Israel....pffffft.
No world outrage when Israeli buses and cafes were blown up. None. Of course.
I'm just hoping that it's a stand-down or something like that, but I KNOW that the crescendo will increase for a complete calloff of this......
They WILL NOT return the prisoners, they WILL NOT allow the Civilians to flee, and they WILL reload while claiming "Victory" in the Arab press.....
Leftists on other sites are already claiming a win over Israel....
Dammit, I saw this coming this morning, after I started reseaching Qana, and it really P***ses me off....
Tidy up loose ends with our so-called allies; with us or not before Israel gets busy again.
It's not .. it's only ticking me off
I guess Israeli children are worth nothing as far as CNN is concern
Well, then it will be bedtime :)
haven't heard of symphytum
That is the question of the day: Will they or won't they?
It is 5:30 AM in Lebanon. As I recall, that's about when the sun comes up and the Hezzies start shooting off their rockets. So we should have our answer soon.
I agree (about the media perspective that is impacting what we're seeing of Condi's perceived feelings).
I don't remember what station I saw it on, but one of them had the image of Condi with her hand on her head a few days ago (when we were laughing about her reciting the "head on" commercial while doing that) and it looks like she is tired and probably frustrated (which I'm sure she is some of both, but not nearly to the extent we're getting images trying to show). Anyway, the host or reporter was showing the image to people asking what they thought she was thinking or how she was feeling, things along those lines. They all thought she looked upset, mad, frustrated, or variations like that.
They then went on to show that that wasn't a still photo of what it appeared to be, and it was actually in the midst of her using her hand to move her hair off of her face, and it was the angle that made it give that initial impression, and they played the video segment to show that, and paused it in the spot the photo was from. All the people were SO surprised when they saw the clip, and then changed their impressions of her demeanor.
They then showed another moving clip of her scratching her cheek or something along those lines (forget if it was her cheek or nose) and in that clip, as well as the hair one, you see bulbs flashing and one of the people saying something about she can't even move a finger without a photo being snapped.
It was interesting to see, and to see the shock on the faces of people who had been adament that she just either had an attitude or was completely frustrated, and then them seem to have this lightbulb go off in their heads when they saw the video clip...realizing that had been a picture many were using very strategically, and it just wasn't an accurate portrayal of at least that segement of time!
I didn't see Ayalon...but the conrolled rage I have seen on Gillerman's face this last few weeks speaks volumes to me.
I am sure he has relayed his opinion to Olmert NOT to stop fighting.
Chavez is going to get a complimentary sidewinder through his vestibule before this is over...ala Lybia.
Excellent analogy...ban SUVs.
