Israeli combat soldiers walk along the Israeli northern border with Lebanon. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is pursuing a new round of Middle East diplomacy as the Lebanon conflict moved into its 19th day, with Israel and Hezbollah exchanging firepower and threats in defiance of international moves toward a ceasefire
THATS better!
He has a problem with anger management, that he deals with by hitting things. I told him buy a punching bag. Tomorrow is his birthday and he turns 18. He also comes into several thousand dollars in cash and about 25,000 tied up in CDs, an inheritance from the sale of his birth mother's house after she passed away. I explained about it, and instead of getting that greedy gleam in his eye, he just asked if I could get him about $50 to play with. I was impressed. Of course, he will get money crazy and go on a spending spree pretty soon, but once I talked about a friend who was going to come into some money, and said the wise thing to do if that happened was to keep some of it in cash and tie the rest up in CDs so you wouldn't spend it all too fast. And at the time he thought that was a good idea.
And he told me I should do that for him if he ever did. and it has been done.
And he's stayed out of trouble for a year, except for one traffic ticket.
And I've almost got him talked into seriously considering going into the military once he finishes his GED. His grandfather was career Army, and both sides of our family have long histories of military service, which we talk of proudly, so he may very well do it.
It was like a good visit even if it was just to go to the doctors. I forgot how hyper he is (but not in a way I can't deal with, being that way runs in my family, too), and how much I miss the booger since he's moved in with his brother.
Did warn him not to let his brother weedle too much money out of him, though....
I don't know the names of the songs either..
SemyonD just uploaded two new "reality" videos of the IDF; no fighting, but very interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exhBwfNEQAQ
I need air..BBL
I knew Ollie would shut Alan up!
He's hurt it, but he might have a hairline fracture, so the doctor (actually a PA) decided to be safe and splint it till the radiologist gets to review the xray. He thinks it's probably not, but one of the pictures was a little iffy.
And the booger has a sinus infection with a little fever. Boys living together don't eat right, I suspect. The nurse said, "eat more meat and vegetables," evidently cause she knows young folks try to live off of things like ramen noodles and easy mac (and frozen burritos, if I know my guy!)
Yes...Hezbollah is ONE of the problems...but a BIG one, both for Israel and for the USA....
Bush and the USA were big players in getting the Syrians to supposedly leave Lebanon...so Lebanon could decide their own future...but, Hezbollah isn't playing by the rules..
Siniore of Lebonon is terrified of Hezbollah, Assad is terrified of Hezzies AND AJ in Iran....and they all may be terrified of Muniyah...wherever he is.
WE need to become the ones they are ALL terrified of.
those frozen burritos are goooood!
OMG the Lebanese PM said the strike in Qana was "State sponsored terrorism"............
Kofi..is deeply dismayed...
For breakfast I had a microwavable precooked hamburger pattie and a small bun. For lunch I had the same. And for supper, my boy took me to Wendys. It must have been 4 or 5 weeks since I had my last hamburger. I ate enough of them today to last me til christmas.
Once again this pontificating of mine presumes Hizbullah C&C is still intact enough to control its rocket crews
This is the end of the line for Hizbullah (and to some degree Syria and Iran) It stops now if it what they want, and i believe enough of Hizbullah is left to fight another day. They would be stupid not to stop b/c 1) they can claim a draw, which in Arabic = victory and 2) Hizbullah is left to fight another day. If they want to keep going i don't think this thing stays within the bounds of Israel and Lebanon. We'll find out in a few hours . . .
Yes...amazing isn't it.
The more this goes on...and the more we find out..of the past..the more NAIVE I feel.
Ever try really high quality balsamic vinegar on vanilla ice cream? To die for....
