well, there haven't been pogroms to massacre Dalits in INdia. That doesnt' mean that it wasn't a vile system and one which killed many people. Just as Maoism was a vile system that killed many Chinese. However, the time-span was shorter for Maoism.

The CCP's support of Islamofascism is also something that will come and haunt it -- just like supporting the Mujahideen in the 80s in Afghanistan came back to haunt the US.

As far as your comment on food - in India, you have 250 million people go to bed nightly hungry. If you're complaining about people who eat dogs, look at your own neighborhood - they got NOTHING to eat, not even rats because they worship rats.

Got to go with pganini on this, Mimirs, if you can eat chicken, why can't people eat dogs? Taking it a step further, if you can eat a living thing (a plant), why point fingers at someone else who eats another living thing (a dog). You may feel squeamish, but I know pure veggies who feel squeamish when a person eats chicken -- they'd consider it in the same category. And China HAS done better to feed it's people than INdia. If China freed Tibet and stopped it's collaboration with Pakistan, I feel India and CHina would be on a much better footing (the Middle Kingdom's experiment with communism is all but over). TIbet could be a border state, there's nothing realy there for China to want to fight over. The only reason it IS in China is because the Manchus conquered Tibet (it is a separate culture) and China feels the need to reassert itself after what it considers it's century of shame when it was carved up by the European powers.

Indians wouldn't commit genocide againt a group of dalits as they'd feel that would be bad karma. However, you have to admit that the dalits were badly treated for centuries. NOte that i say were

You're rather late to this thread. You missed a lot that was posted in the now removed posts. This thread got pganini zotted. There's nothing to apologise to a Chicom agent for. Besides, about eating dogs, I dont think hunger has reached a level in India where people would get down to eating anything that moves.

One may also rationalise many other actions. If you can have sex with a human (a living thing) why couldn't you have sex with a dog (a living thing as well)? The reason is, atleast in the society that we have been brought up in, it just doesn't seem right. Same for eating a dog or a cicada or a snake or a rat or a monkey's brain when the monkey is still alive.
