My happiest memories are moments when I watched my kids play.. I am so sorry for these empty vessels.. Maturity, for them will be Hell..

I do not have kids and never had. I have two grandsons - the sons of my wife's son - and they have taught me alot - especially patience. I am actually dredding what it would be like in 3 to 5 years when they go off to college and will not be around.

I can't understand this attitude. I'd much rather be home with my kids.

"Maturity, for them will be Hell.."

Yes. They will sit at home all alone and wonder why their children never come to see them. "And after all I've done for them. Oh, woe is me."

Me too. I wasn't exactly the children adoring type, but I adored my own children.

I remember looking forward to getting my son out of school and driving 30 miles to the nearest orthdontist just because we had a chance to visit for a long time.

Life without my children just wouldn't be nearly so interesting. It's a shame there are mothers like this one.

(and can her children read??) How would this make them feel?

How inconceivable for me and my wife to not want your kids with you all the time. We have three biological boys and two grand kids. We then proceeded at ages 55 (me) and 43 (her) to adopt 2 baby girls from Russia. Now retired with oldest 10 and youngest 7 we are happier than we have ever been. Now we enjoy kids time that one or the other missed during our working life with the boys. Amen.
