GWB vetoed Federal funds for research. Researchers can do anything they damn well please, they just can't feed from the Federal trough. There are billions of dollars out there to fund viable research in stem cells. GWB drew the line at Federal funds going into "EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH". There are a multitude of promising programs in stem cell research that do not involve the human embryo.

God Bless George Bush for protecting the innocent unborn.

If stem cells are the way to solving all of the sicknesses in the world, why isn't there some Pharma. Company stepping up to the plate to do it themselves? If this is a homerun, wouldn't some company take the bull by the horns and develop this on their own?
