Some of the nations listed in Psalm 83:
Edom [Jordan]
Moab [Jordan]
Ammon [Jordan]
Assyria [Syria]
Philistia [Gaza]
Tyre [Lebanon]
Disclaimer: Current locations determined by a quick eyeballing of the map. Still - gives me chills too!
Have tended to think of Moab as Arabia. Seems like it on most in-Bible maps I've seen.
Is that accurate?
Great post, thanks (I was researching this earlier too).
Verse 6 reads they will be from tents. What is your interpretation on that. I've been doing some thinking on this and would like your take on it. Thanks..
In Arabic, the same city is called Jbail.
Which Israel invaded this week.
Things don't change much in that part of the world, even after 2500 years.

That's exactly how I feel. Recently, Tyre has been in the news a lot and I just can't help but think of the story of the King of Tyre in the Bible. When I re-read Psalm 83 after hearing of this story, it just gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes.
I don't even want to think about what will happen to us (the U.S.) if we ever turn our back on Israel, and with so many hating her more and more, it just seems grim right now.
Now, if we begin to see Jordan involved or people invading through Jordan, we certainly will be seeing prophecy fulfilled in an amazing way. But, I still do not fear because we have read of Israel's enemies fate.

Wow! Chills here, too.
