US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice salutes a US Marine as she walks towards a helicopter upon her departure from Beirut after meeting with Lebanese officials.
It would be better for Hezebola from a public relations standpoint to attack Israeli military targets, if the longer range missiles have the requisite guidance capabilities.
And elsewhere today:

US troops kill local al-Qaida leader in north Iraq
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
US troops killed a local al-Qaida in Iraq leader and captured three of his followers during a raid Tuesday near Beiji in northern Iraq, the US military said.
A US statement said the suspect fled when he saw the soldiers coming but the troops fired and killed him, the statement said.
"The other three suspects were detained without incident," the statement said. "There were multiple small arms weapons and ammunition discovered and destroyed on location."
It said "multiple women and children" were found at the raid site but none was harmed.
The statement accused insurgents of continuing "to exploit Iraqi women and children by placing them in danger with their actions and presence."
Hezbollah vows rockets deeper into Israel By SAM GHATTAS, Associated Press Writer

Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah vowed Wednesday that his fighters would now begin firing rockets deeper into Israel, beyond the northern port city of Haifa which has suffered under hundreds of Hezbollah barrages.
The Shiite cleric also said Israel's 2-week-long military offensive against Lebanon is linked to a U.S.-Israeli plan for "a new Middle East," a term used repeatedly by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during her visit to the region this week.
Nasrallah, speaking on Hezbollah's al-Manar television, said Israel would have attacked his forces in southern Lebanon by October but moved early when his guerrilla forces captured two Israeli soldiers on July 12.
"In an American and Zionist assessment, there are obstacles to a new Middle East. In the new Middle East, the Palestine cause should be liquidated," Nasrallah said in a televised speech aired also aired on Lebanese and Arab satellite channels early Wednesday.
"In the new Middle East, there is no place for any resistance movement. The resistance movements in Palestine and Lebanon must be eliminated," Nasrallah added.

"I have been thinking that we are not hearing about the full extent of their losses - psychological, physical and ground - because one of the Israeli generals said - we don't have time to count the bodies during war or words to that effect - also the news media likes to paint a dismal picture."
I agree. How can Israel fire over 20,000 artillery rounds and kill no one?
They've helped out Hez before.......
Yes - the same high standards: independent authority, nonbiased, etc. I didn't see Koffi Pot step up to the plate and accept any responsibility.

# 6. The enemy has gotten another week or 10 days to finish its operation, it can't get a longer green light from the international community, especially with the growing shed of innocent blood.
Please, please, please UN, save us!!! (Or am I interpreting this in the wrong way?)
UN accusing IDF of deliberate targeting of their people?
Because if I wanted to make Israel look out of control.....Hmmmmmm?
That's the history. The "international community" has always stepped in to save the "resistance" in the past. Boy are they in for a surprise this time!
good point
The UN can't do that without very good evidence.
Coffee Pot can do anything - evidence and proof does not exist in his vocabulary (which is probably one of the reasosn why he isn' behind bars himself).
Perhaps this was a payback for the UN peacekeepers video taping the abuction of the Jewish soldier...and then denying any tape existed, etc.?
02:02 IDF opens inquiry into strike which killed 4 UN observers in Lebanon (Israel Radio)
That's what Britt Hume just said - 20 minutes ago. Annan made the call for an investigation into targeting UN troops.
Payback's a beotch.
LOL! To be honest, in the story it looked more like uptown Chicago. Flashy cars, clubs, and lots of great places to eat.
EXACTLY!
...and they won't even come to an agreement on what sort of "army" it should be for a long, long time.
Of course the US will be blamed for ruining the UN system, but I think that will play well for the GOP in the upcoming elections, so who cares?
