There was something on the floor in the aisle and she didn't see it, tripped over it and skinned her knee. Accidents happen...

If you had taught your daughter to look out for bumps in the aisle, she would not have fallen. You failed to do so and so she fell and skinned her knees. Of course, if she were living in the 50s, none of that would have happened. It just didn't. ;)

Actually, it happened all the time in the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's and guess what? We picked ourselves up, brushed ourselves off, and went on our way.

We didn't expect a huge settlement because of a skinned knee. Now we do.

Darn those trial lawyers!

p.s. To all my reading-comprehension impaired compassionate FRiends, my comments have nothing to do with the child in question so please don't accuse me of being heartless. I am talking about the many times a kid slipped and fell or took a header out of a shopping cart and our parents didn't even think to visit a lawyer. Thanks in advance...GG

Yes, I have failed as a parent...but she does know how to warn daddy about the the pothole at the entrance to our favorite restaurant!!!!
