I don't care if people pick on me. I hold hands with my granddaughters in the parking lot. My view of children's common sense is very pessimistic. I remember my own foolishness too well. I was a little one in the 50's. You behaved back then. My Mom used to try on clothes and we obediently sat on the bench outside the dressing room. All 3 of us, 5 and under. She would come out and model for us. It was a treat to see our lovely Mother put on a "fashion show" for us. If we fidgeted, it was over. We hardly breathed.

If we behaved badly, it reflected on the whole family. I grew up in the 1950s too.
