Again, Mom was 5 ft away obviously looking at something since the article says this: The mother told police she was about 5 feet away from her son when she heard a loud crash. If he had been next to her, he wouldn't have been near the mirror. She wasn't even looking at him since she only heard the crash.

You are so hellbent on laying the blame on this woman that you absolutely refuse to accept the possibility the mirror could have fallen whether the kid was there or not....or if the mother, or someone else was standing there.

This woman just lost her child and all you care about is painting her as a negligent parent ebcause she didn't do exactly what you deem she should have been doing.

You weren't there, I wasn't there, there is not enough information in the article to lay blame on ANYONE.

Freak accidents happen. Take for instance that poor lady driving through that tunnel a week or two ago. If only someone had been watching her perhaps nothing would have fallen on her either.

We only have the mom's say-so as to what happened, and how far away she was. For all we know, she could have pushed the mirror over on the kid herself, so that she could sue the deep-pockets-company. Get her on a lie detector and grill her. Hard.
