Yeah. Shuttle diplomacy implies no substance. This administration has proven time and again that we dont go in with chocolates and basketballs.
The media can't recognize good diplomacy (the kind backed up by strength).
There are some really intriguing developments this morning:
1) Israel's proposal for NATO troops sent a message to Europe: "Put up or SHUT UP." Methinks we won't be hearing much more "ceasefire" talk out of the Euro capitals.
2) Condi making Beirut her first stop boosts the Lebanese prime minister and undermines Hez's position. It also sends the message that we have lots of surprises (as well as arrows) in our arsenal.
3) Bush and the Saudis agreed yesterday that Saudi Arabia will "lean on" Syria. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when they tell the eye doctor what a fool he's been.
And, lastly, there's Bolton sitting at the U.N. insuring they don't meddle and make matters worse. (Not to mention GW just put the Dems on notice that they'll have to vote on Bolton again before the fall elections!)
A pretty good day, I'd say.
