The reporter asked how they got him to take the feeding tube. Tony replied, "I assume they said,'Do you want a feeding tube.' and he said 'yes'. As far as I know it was a consensual feeding tub-ing." Got a chuckle out of the press.

Yeah, I loved Tony's, "I wasn't there".

I guess the hunger strike means "no solid food". Vitamins, minerals and nutrients in water are OK.

I don't remember Karen Hughes job description being to "promote" anything, least of all, Islam as a religion of Peace.

I have to admit I don't remember exactly what her job description IS, but that certainly doesn't sound right.

WHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYY does the U.S. have to send all the aid to Lebanon? What about Saudi Arabia? They have TRILLIONS of dollars. Let them pay for some of this.

Lebanon allowed this to happen.

Hell, Iran sends them millions for weapons, they can cough up some more millions for aid.

For whatever reason, the US wants a piece of the action there. This is the price of admission.

This Travel Warning is being reissued to remind U.S. citizens of ongoing safety and security concerns in Lebanon.

That right there should be enough to kill the stupid lawsuit.

I disagree with that statement about Colin Powell...I think he bailed because President Bush is as skeptical of diplomacy are YOU are...LOL

I think Colin Powell would rather talk about nothing, diplomatically, than just admit that in some cases a military action is the necessary thing to do.

At the end of the civil war, the Lebanese basically made a deal with the devil with Syria, and that included some of the Christian Lebanese.

Not everybody liked the deal, not everybody agrees with the deal, but they didn't have enough power to break the deal. The last President who didn't want to be a syrian puppet was assassinated.

Her job description was to promote the US's point of view to Arab countries.

There's an astute statement.

I see a broad blue swath running from the Med to India before too very long, cutting the "world's fastest growing religion" half in two.

Powell's career at State convinced me he should never be president. Here was a guy with a solid military record. The best quote I remember was in National Review, commenting on Powell's admonitions to Israel when they were using "excessive force" just because their people were being shredded by suicide ers: something like this: Only a few weeks on the job at State, it didn't take Colin Powell too long to 'go native'.

Any guy who can shed his military sensibilities that quick and become a State weenie, was probably a political guy all along.

" Turkey talking about going after Iraqi Kurds.."

FOX ran the coolest commercial about an hour ago- from the Kurdistan Development Corporation .It was upbeat- touting the positive developments in Kurdistan- commerce, development, democracy etc.
It was nice to see school kids, businessmen, average citizens smiling and waving American flags and thanking America.
It can be viewed at http://www.theotheriraq.com/

It is incontravertibly clear that the Gov't is backed by Sryia. How can we support such a gov't.

Not true. Syria used to control Lebanon until they were kicked out. Their intelligence apparatus is still in place and Hezbollah whom they do support is obviously stil in Lebanon. The PM, however, is not a member of Hezbollah. If he was the Israelis would be fighting Hezbollan and the regular Lebanese troops right now. The fact that they aren't is proof enough for me.
