Your last sentence...I am sure...speaks for all of us.
NONE of us really can know what is involved at that level diplomacy wise..that is why I TRY not to question them too much.

Condi just met with the terrorist PM of Lebanon. She told him, "Thank you for your Courage and steadfastness." That is an interesting thing to tell someone who is supported by the Syrian government which serves as the base for every terrorist group except for Al Quieda. I'm sure she didn't demand from him to release the soldiers immediately, eventhough his cabinet members admitted that they know where they are located. I doubt that she asked him to step aside and let Israel annihilate Hizbollah and help the future of both governments, much less take him to task for actively helping Hizbollah with their radar systems. Then again, I didn't understand how the Saudi officials were given royal treatment and prominence to discuss what to do with a country that they seek to destroy. I guess I will never understand "diplomacy". The PM of Lebanon is not Hezbollah and while he lacks the ability to resist them he is no fool. He knows that Hezbollah wants his job and wants to control Lebanon. Condi is there to tell him that we don't want to see that happen.
The PM does not control the kidnapped prisoners so you cannot criticize him for not releasing them. If any cabinet members know of their location they are the Hezbollah members not the PM.
The Saudis have some leverage with Syria (I don't know what it is but Bush/Condi think they have it.) That is reason for meeting with the Saudi officials. They want a message sent to Syria from the Saudis.

The US and Iraqi forces have attacked (and fought inside) mosques numerous times when hostiles have used them to fire at troops.
The infamous video of a Marine shooting a wounded man in Fallujah was from the inside of a mosque.

Those tunnels and fortifications that would have been a formidable obstacles for the Israelis if they had wanted to make rapid forays deep into Lebanon, instead turns out to be death-traps for the terrorists when the IDF takes time to methodically isolate and subjugate the fortified villages.Prime for (as other posters have pointed out)... the use of "Propane and Propane Accessories" (use your imagination)...

That's true, but what I am saying is that this policy of being so cautious around "holy" sites is a flawed policy, IMO. If the mosque is used for a lauching pad for terrorists, the mosque is leveled.

Resolution 1559 is the central issue. The UN is for it, Israel if for it, the US is for it. The Lebonese government, military and Hezebola are not for it. Kofi wants 'concrete' package something.
Oh, now he wants 1559 to be 'fully implemented'.
Amazing...

Hizbollah site quotes a Turkish newspaper as saying that the joint US/Israeli goal is to create one big Jewish state from the Nile to the Euphrates. Link to the quote please - thanks!

'CAIR-rushed bomb deliveries are unconscionable'...true...the Israelis should have had a larger supply from the gitgo.

The thing is this. A Lebanese gummit official said yesterday that the soldiers were in good condition. That means that they know where they are. Obviously they are supporting Hizbollah. If they want to come clean then tell Israel where they are and stop helping out Hizbollah. it will be good for the Lebanese gummit too. Unless of course they support it themselves. It is incontravertibly clear that the Gov't is backed by Sryia. How can we support such a gov't.
