IIRC, Bolton was voted out of committee (tie) because of the cryer and his emotional jag.

Bolton WAS filibustered in the Senate and it never came to a vote. the #57 comes to mind as to the number of ayes with several not voting, 8 I think.

If this were to happen again, GWB could recesss appoint again, BUT Bolton would have to work without compensation.

It never ceases to amaze me how old media and the usual political pundits keep saying the same things after their claims, accusations and predictions keep getting things wrong. I realize they bring committee heads on their programs and they look for colorful people, etc, but one would think at some point they would learn the viewing public is on to them.

Left wing newspapers, the networks, left wing pundits and commentators are losing revenue, losing viewers and readers, investments are down, profits are down, and still these people play the same games.

All anyone can do is hope they keep doing what they're doing.

Actually it is all about pandering to their red meat base. Biden and Dodd are both reported to be running for President in 2008. Neither one of the two stand a snowball's chance in Hell. Dodd puffs himself up like a Banty Rooster in front of a Huge crowd of 190 People in South Florida,and because he was received well by a handful of Left wing nutballs, he thinks he has hit the big time. He follows up his ahem- performance by running off at the mouth with Headline grabbing crap. Biden has been saying headline grabbing outrageous things forever, and it is just to the base of DUmmies,and move on types that they will need to win any Dem primary.

Regarding your comment that Russert used to be more fair to Republican guests, that can only be by a measurement of degree of fairness. He has always been Dem agenda driven. When Clinton was in office, every interview that did not focus on Clinton's troubles (and Republicans being mean to him), focused on taxes or social security going bankrupt under the Republican led Congress. It was like he had a tic, his questions, spoken in the form of accusations, were so predictable.

It is possible to know the party affiliation of his guests with a muted TV by Russert's body language. On the radio the same distinction can be made by the aggressive or passive tone of voice.

#492, That is the bottom line jealousy and too long in the tooth in the Business for the BW Boys,plus living in the BW area. we all need pats on the back,acceptance,gratitude for a job well done, some are just more needy than others. Rush is without a wife and Family(except for Brother's family) so I would consider him more needy. Rush does not have longevity from his Father, and that is whom he takes after. His Mom died of Cancer,but was in her 70's I believe and was a smoker. His Grandfather was about 102 when he died and he was a Lawyer that was still practicing.
