Dont suppress gays emotions or rights Thursday, July 20, 2006
Marie LeDuc of Silver Spring, Md., wrote to express her familys emotional distress at having to witness two women kissing on a park bench Downtown during Columbus Gay Pride week (letter, July 13).
OK , let me see: Were not supposed to join the armed services, get married, ask for civil unions, adopt children, ask for any sort of domestic-partner benefits at work or show affection in public.
We are supposed to pay taxes, bring gifts and cry (public displays) at heterosexual, legally sanctioned weddings (and be thrilled!), and support school levies.
While LeDuc did say that any sort of public display of affection is inappropriate, she took the time out of her day to complain about a public display of homosexual affection. Not a heterosexual display.
And, Im sorry, but straight people kiss in public all the time! I mean, really, just go to the Ohio State Fair this year and walk down the midway. Or turn on your television set.
Get over it! If LeDuc and her kind had their way, gays and lesbians would be legislated out of existence. But its not gonna happen. Weve been around since the beginning of time, and well be here at the end of time, which will not be brought about by public displays of homosexual affection.
It is my sincere prayer (yes, we do pray) that in the not-too-distant future, society will have evolved to where we will look back at Marie LeDucs letter and, with wry bemusement, say to ourselves, "My goodness, what were we thinking back then? "

Wow, you sure fired this girly-man up, Marie!
Just because perversion has been around since the beginning of time doesn't mean that it should take place in the public view.
Columbus gay agenda ping!!
After that list of "rights" you don't have and things you have to endure like go to weddings, you're telling someone else to get over it?
Oh NO HE Di'INT!
Is that even possible?
Great and appropriate tagline!
Lookout! Mad mo on the loose.
Same as cockroaches?
This poofter is obviously not old enough to remember that pre-1979 being a pervert was actually a crime... in most states and countries.
Perversion is not a civil right! The link contains a story about an animal who (allegedly) raped and murdered a young boy. Apparently he got a beating in jail already. Good start!
>>Is that even possible?<<
Oh ya got that right!
My Former Cleveland teacher/lesbian/flying lib sister is the DRAMA QUEEN!!!
Everything is about her and she lets you know it.
When she first announced this whole gay thing (after two husbands and four kids) I thought we could live with it. I asked her to please not make a big deal and until my girls were older, to keep her lover out of it.
We stayed in her apartment when visiting my hometown. We were sleeping on a futon in the livingroom when my four year old woke me up saying that there was a strange person coming out of her Aunt's room.
She snuck her in during the night!!
Now I can't trust her and will not let my kids around her. But it's all MY fault and I'm a homophobe.
Pickpockets have been with us for as long as there have been pockets. That doesn't mean that "dipping" is a good thing.
Obviously Griffin is against freedom of speech. It would be one thing to disagree, but he insists that it not even be discussed.
"Weve been around since the beginning of time, and well be here at the end of time, "
If cockroaches could write...
That is SO unfair to cockroaches...;-)
LOL!
