I checked an Indian news source, but it said next to nothing, Anyone can read between the lines though, that Frakhan was obviously there to try to instigate hatred for the white man and solidarity with the black man.

That bastard's up to no good! Indian reservations would be perfect places for Islamic terrorist groups to hide in. Maybe that's what he's looking for?

Oh how I wish I had known he was going to be there today. I would have run out there to see what I could do to harass him. I'm only 20 miles from Window Rock.

Joe Shirley is a pretty smart guy and I don't think Farrakhan will fool him. I think the Navajos are pretty spooked about Muslims because of 9-11, beheadings and other atrocities committed by them. There's a lot of Navajos who are in the military, and the people in general are pretty patriotic. I should get my paper pretty soon and I'll see what it has to say. I suppose all the local Muslims rushed off to see him. LOL

There are quite a few Christian Navajos. They are one of the reasons that Highway 666 is now Highway 491.

There sure are. I've got a lot of Navajo Christian friends. Do you live around here? You seem to know a lot about the area. :o)

I think he should have been tried and convicted and keel hauled for treason a long time ago.

***Have been very blessed to see on my return to the area that The Dine[h] have done very well for themselves. They have to big bucks coal fired power plants a dozen miles east of town. They have the Navajo Dam irrigation project NAPE affording lots of good crops. They have timber etc. It's great to see them raise their standard of living.***

You must be living near the HOGBACK. I lived at Farmington in 1954-56 and 1973-77. Got out before the economic collapse. Wish I was there now but my worthless brother-in-law (If you know him he probably owes you money) lives there.

Tell me, Is the old Fairchild building still empty at Shiprock? Remember those "good"old days of the occupation in 1975?

Tell me, what would Fairy-con do if he met his first "skinwalker"?

CAPITALIST TOOL

LOLOLOL! Quix, that is hilarious! So out of character for an elderly grandmother. I bet her grandkids helped her out with that. ;o)

I don't recall if the Fairchild building is empty since the idiot Commie emptied it decades ago. Seems like it is being used.

Fairy Con would empty his colon clear to the top of his pointed traitorous head if he saw a 'skinwalker.'

On the other hand, he probably communes with demons all the time.

It was very beautiful. Went fine with her outfit. But I wouldn't doubt that grandkids helped her out . . . in a manner of speaking. I loved it. Was hillarious.

And, actually, she likely is--her own tool--probably being a very good capitalist matriarch.

But I'll never forget my humor at figuring out what the wording design on her scarf said.

The last time I went to Farmington that way was a year ago, and I don't remember, but I did hear that someone had or was going to use the building for something.

Tell me, what would Fairy-con do if he met his first "skinwalker"?

It would scare him so bad, they'd have to beam him back up to the mother ship for repairs. LOL

Yes, it is very funny. Especially knowing the culture. It's just so out of character. So...."white manish." LOL

And, actually, she likely is--her own tool--probably being a very good capitalist matriarch.

I admire the Navajos for their respect for their elders. The grand parents are the head of the clan.

But I'll never forget my humor at figuring out what the wording design on her scarf said.

Was it in Navajo or English? I can imagine how amused you were when you figured it out. :o)

The red words on the Navy blue background were in English. But they were in lines of text that formed squares--the lines being at right angles to each other. And from even maybe 3-5 feet away, that they were words was not overly obvious. On closer inspection, the words were clear ALL CAPS, block text. Looked like something Ralph Lauren might have done. Wouldn't have been surprised to have seen his label on it.

Yeah, grandparents have quite a place in that culture.

Though there's a joke at the college. Often Dineh students will have to "go to grandma's funeral." It seems they may have 16 grandmas in one semester. LOL. Characters.

**Ok I must ask.. what is a 'skinwalker'.. ? :)**

A Navajo witch spell caster, claimed to be able to turn into a wolf or coyote. Usually seen at nights with a coyote skin on their body. Their version of a Werewolf.

I knew a Christian Navajo who was terrified of them. He was out with his motorcycle one night, came upon some human tracks and began to follow them. Suddenly the tracks turned into coyote tracks, his motorcycle died and he had a dickens of a time getting it started again. He claimed he "skinwalker" cast a spellon the cycle to make it die.
When I worked an evening shift with him, he said when he went home he would drive slowly into his yard, watching the headlights for any skinwalkers hiding in the brush, then make a run for the house.
