Everything has a price. Hitler did want to negotiate (after Dunkirk) but the price would have been: Germany gets mainland Europe and England gets left alone.

That would have been "just for openners." Hitler would have demanded more from Britain -- like basing rights in the Empire, right of access to the Suez Canal (to form junction with the Japanese), etc. Britain would have been Vichy-ized.

Last of course, are the many commentators who say that “the Middle East is spiraling out of control.” Often they add that the Israeli response is “out of proportion.” The first statement assumes that the Middle East was “in control” before last week’s events. Does anyone actually believe that? And what is a “proportional” response to mass murderers who’ve made clear their intent to murder your people and destroy your nation? What about the fact that Winston Churchill, before he became Prime Minister, warned that Hitler needed to be dealt with immediately, and harshly?

It amazes me that supposedly educated people in the media can be so utterly devoid of historical knowledge. If it is possible, their knowledge of anything to do with the military is even greater.

One fatal flaw of libs is their inability to see evil when it appears. In lib minds all groups, violent or non-violent, can be reasoned with. You just have to show the right amount of compassion...and willingness to appease. Some of the geopolitical analysts claim that recent events show that “democracy is not the answer” in the Middle East.

I've heard this a number of times from the left.

Apparently religious freedom, equal protection under the law, freedom from slavery, freedom from honor killings, and freedom of governance are only for "some" people.

That "simple" peoples cannot be served by such rights. That attitude is what will continue to feed Islamic supremacist dictatorships.
