I assume you to mean that the Americans being evacuated will have to pay for their own evacuation.
I think that is the plan and if you are evacuated you will be sent a bill for transportation.
I had slight misgivings about this for just a brief time until yesterday some loon was on the phone with one of the Networks screaming about how they were hostages . That completely changed my thinking about these unlucky folks.
Playing to the sheeple for sympathy turned me off completely. Get out the AMEX, VISA, whatever. Pay your transportation.
There was a lady on Fox news this weekend complaining that they couldnt go to the beach anymore. I dont see how paying the market rate to Cyprus is going to break any of their banks....they all must have unused return tickets....they can probably get changes or credits. To be summering in Beirut, it isnt exactly your typical American crowd.
As I understand it, the US military will get you out of Lebanon, and land you in Cyprus. No charge....from there it's your own dime to get home...seems fair..
Presumably they would have had to pay to get back home at some point anyway, even if they left under normal circumstances, so I don't see what the big deal is for them. I was very disappointed to find that we had such a pack of whiners over there.
I heard that interview yesterday...he was by far, the most hysterical and critical of all of the people I have heard interviewed...
And I agree with you...I'm not as sympathetic to his situation because of it.
Oh, I never had any misgivings. I really wonder about people who would vacation in Lebanon anyway. I can understand visiting Israel...but Lebanon, or Syria, or Jordan? For a vacation?
