Rockets hit Upper Nazareth, Israelis say 24 minutes ago
JERUSALEM - Rockets fired from Lebanon exploded in the Israeli town of Afula and Upper Nazareth late Sunday, the military said, showing a range farther south than previous barrages.
The two towns are about 25 miles south of the Lebanese border, about the same distance as Haifa, which was hit earlier Sunday with a rocket that killed eight people.
The military said Migdal Haemek, Givat Ella and Nahalal were also hit in the latest barrage. The military said there were no immediate reports of casualties.
Upper Nazareth is a Jewish town next to historical Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus. The population of Nazareth is made up of Muslim and Christian Arabs who are Israeli citizens.
