That's the question of the day. The only reason Olmert has done what he's done thus far (in my opinion) is that he knows he will be tossed out on his ass if he doesn't do something. He is trying to do the minimum "something" in order to stay in power.

They are surprised by the determination of the homefront. What do they see? They see a country united and has closed ranks and it's important for this attitude to prevail because this is what will be decided. We now have a situation where the army is fighting for its home. That's the picture. Everyone know we're fighting for our homes. Our famlies are being attacked.

I wish Americans realized this and were as united. Prayers for the Israelis, may the defend their homeland and their families well.

TV news: Israel using GAS (wmd) on Lebanon!

Sorry no links, you can believe it or not.

Italian mainstream TV news (RAI) was reporting live from Beirut just half an hour ago that Israel is using GAS in bombing Lebanon. They say it's not confirmed, but if they dare to report it... well, I guess they're pretty sure (journalists in Italy are enslaved as everywhere else).

You an pan/zoom to simply explore or click from a list to find certain specific places.

Sorry, IE only right now, though I'm trying to figure out why Firefox isn't working quite right.

"They" are morons, IMO. I seriously doubt that Israel would use a WMD at this point for any reason other than a direct retaliation of a WMD being used against Israel.

however I do think there may be other reasons why they have not yet begun the ground offensive.

Fox mentioned something that I caught only in passing. They said that Israel was warning people in southern Lebanon to get out because they were going to be having a "big" offensive coming up in a few hours.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa who is reporting that. If they are mobilizing we can expect interesting times. Not the the Syrian military will present any real threat to Israel proper, however they would be able to provide sufficient cover for Syrian missile forces to launch their arsenal at Israel

Events may take the decision out of Olmert's hands, but at this point it still seems that it's a 50/50 proposition, IMO.
