I never knew he was a comedian.
My first encounter with him was the movie "Longest Day" where he played the role of John Steele, who hung by his parachute from the Catholic Church at St. Mere Eglise.
I vaguely knew that he had to have a pretty good career. Such roles are not "low hanging fruit" (pun intended).
