Kind of sounds like my boys when they didn't get their way.

Well, it is in no way like your relationship with your boys, unless you allow your boys complete freedom to do whatever they want.

When your boys are adults, they will have complete freedom. You will hope they choose to do the right thing every time, but you won't be able to guarantee or assure that. And, you will still love them, no matter what they do.

the islamofascist leadership has no interest in martyrdom - they just pump that idea into the islamic sheeple. the leadership will run and hide and do everything they can to stay alive.

I switched over to CNN out of curiosity and the anchorette was interviewing some Syrian bigwig. He was going off on how this was all Israel's fault and it is Israel's fault that the peace process was stalled.

To her credit the anchorette (a redhead by the way)went after the guy and hammered away at him at how this could be Israel's fault and how kidnapping soldiers and murdering innocent civilians with suicide bombers could help the peace process. I was shocked by CNN.

1. That He gave up control in the garden is an assumption on your part.

2. That it went badly for Adam & Eve does not mean that it went badly. That, too, is an assumption.

3. Served His purpose. Again, not necessarily. That depends on your view of God's power.

Remember, Patty Murray, Senator from Washington state was praising Bin Ladin at one time

I am always amazed at the love affair that the Dems have for barbaric dictators. I see Che bumper stickers on quite a few cars here in Ca.

Exactly, and rightly so. We all know about collateral- but only civilized nations work to avoid it, and provide warning.

Then I guess he didn't love Paul. I'd say he interfered with St. Paul's free will on the road to Damascus.

I don't know about that. Sha'ul still got to make a choice--it was just a far starker choice than most of us get, since he had incontrovertably seen and heard the command of the risen Lord. He could still have rebelled, as Adam and Eve did. He could have decided, as some of the Pharisees who saw Yeshua's miracles did, that his experience was actually a temptation from the Adversary.

God can destroy all life on this earth and it will be a Holy Decision.

Actually, no He can't. He promised not to, promised that there would be some survivors of the Day of the Lord who would come to worship Him (Isa. 66, Zec. 14, etc.). For God to destroy "all life," He would have to lie, and the Holy One cannot lie (Num. 23:19, 1 Sa. 15:29, Tit. 1:2).

Indeed, for God to lie He would have to be less than God, for by His very Word He brought all the Creation into being, and by His Word He commands all things, and by His Word He effected our redemption. For God to lie would mean that His Will and His Word were not in agreement--in effect, you'd have to sunder the Father from the Son so that God was no longer echad (one).

And it is because of God's Word that we can rest in Him in regards to Israel, for the same Word which promises our forgiveness of sin and redemption promises the continuance and salvation of "all Israel" (cf. Rom. 11:25ff), and says that Israel will only be scattered from and regathered to the Land twice, the second time being after the Messiah became a rallying point for the Gentiles (Isa. 11:10f).

Might does not make right; rather, might and right are co-equally eternal attributes of the One God whom we worship and serve. And it is because God's power and justice are both eternal attributes that we agree that He has not gotten out of the business of judging nations since the Bible was penned.

I'm sorry, Marlowe, but your view of God as some kind of master manipulator or Supreme office manager is a distortion of His love.

Well I guess I'd better remove Genesis Chapter 6 from my Bible. I suppose it was "free will" that rained down upon the earth for 40 days and nights, huh?

So god must either always control events, or never control events?

Review post 506 and 527.

The fact remains, though, that the Lord is the Shepherd, and that sometimes a shepherd culls the flock.

Or shoots the wolves.
