Reports coming in about IAF striking Beruit airport, if this is confirmed this is another sizable escalation. I think this article ought to be pinned.

Would be a nice idea but would never happen. They would be too worried about the internal struggles this could cause. Them staying out is more like what should happen.
Just doing that, and stating it is an issue for Israel and it's neighbors to work out, would say more about their maturity as a sovereign nation.

It would need to be a direct attack on their sovereignty. Then we would also step in. Syria and Iran know and expect that and so would not do that.
It would force Iraq more into our camp and would be great for us. Now we would be viewed by the Iraqi people as a true ally and that would set the stage for years to come in the ME.
Not what either country (Syria Iran) wants to happen.

No, I meant for the Israelis. Huge base, wide open fire fields, ocean access for resupply.

"What kind of statement is that?" Declarative, I suppose. I'm not sure what you're asking.

I place the blame for current events on Jimmy Carter and further aiding and abetting by Clinton.

Yes, and I really miss him in these trying times.

Interesting. One wonders if the head nutwad in charge of Iran is weighing his military hardware against that of Israel. If Ahmedinijad is half as dumb as he seems, he'll likely get a chance to inspect Israeli ordnance at extremely close range. Measured in inches and fractions of a second.
