I completely understand Meg..
Hey, SnarlinCub ... yes, of course ... Julian, CA ... in the hills of NE San Diego County ... a lovely little mining, with plenty of Old West charm.
Ooops ... I meant to say "mining town" ... )
Here is the piano playing and the words.
I will request this to be sung at Church tomorrow in honor of Maggie.

1
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
see, on the portals he's waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.
Refrain
Come home, come home;
ye who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!
2
Why should we tary when Jesus is pleading,
pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not his mercies,
mercies for you and for me?
3
Think of the wonderful love he has promised,
promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
pardon for you and for me.
I just Came Here to the Finest and Found this Out; our God Help us All, Comfort Dear Maggie's Husband with His Strength.
Lovely, that hymn first came to mind when I saw the news this morning.
Hymns are such a consolation ... a bridge to eternity.
I love Julian. I visited only once, and forgot I was in California! It's a classic small town; what a great parade you had, flyover and all!
Now I completely understand. I'm in north San Diego county and love to visit Julian. Love to ride the carriage there. Great horses, etc., in Julian.
Your tag line says it all.

The Daily Bread had not yet been posted when I wrote my Reply #87! Blessings to you, Your Honor, and to all... I will miss her encouraging posts, her replies to all of us Meg. As she said, "we must consciously get out of His way and allow Him to guide our course..." and HE guided her course. |
Just reading Maggies posts give me great joy knowing how much she Loved the Lord. At the same time much sadness and tears because we will miss her.

Thank you, Rus. Such an honor coming from you.
One of my first thoughts was of how she and Texas Cowboy would be greeting each other up there.
Her tributes and encouragement to TC were angelic.
I only chatted with her a few times but she was very sweet to me.
She was a dynamic, passionate woman from what I could tell and I just ache for her husband for his loss.
An honor coming from me? All I do is post the daily bread everyday.
Maggie and I had a long posting history and shared many emails. She would send me things to post for Military Monday. She also loved the fact the Mrs Mayor is a Marine that married an Army cook.. : )
I am collecting some pics and will dedicate this Monday to her. She was a wonderful woman, a loving wife, mother, grand mother and great grandmother. She rubbed off on me more than I could have ever rubbed off on her.
Finally got the tremor under control enough to post..I am reading and crying,praying , grieving and rejoicing in Maggie's greeting to Heaven. My heart is with her family. No more will she suffer..but the loss is nevertheless great..and she will be sorely missed.. Her words and her spirit;her courage;her faith;her humor;her love will be with me and many here on FR.
She was an inspiration. She had fought the good fight, she had finished the course. There is a big Welcome Home going on in Heaven, I know.
God Bless you Meg.
He has..He has..God Bless us All.
FR's Finest was Maggie's home away from home. How lucky we all were to have Maggie as part of our family here on FR. Prayers for Maggies FRiends and family.
Billie, I know that you and Maggie go way back, FRiends for many years. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm just a mess right now yet thankful for having a person of such quality in my life for a short while.
It has been nearly impossible for me to come to the Finest since Sistah went to the hospital. Knowing what she was facing, I suspected it was only a matter of time. The Finest has been the place where Sistah and I would meet and iron out our sisterly memories. She is too much "here for me to bear." I hope everyone understands. Maybe in a few days. I will try to collect some things for the Monday tribute. Thank you all.
