Mexico's centre-left presidential candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has said he will challenge the outcome of Sunday's presidential election. He spoke as the almost complete results gave a razor-thin victory to his conservative rival, Felipe Calderon.
Mr Lopez Obrador said he would appeal to the courts, and urged his supporters to rally in Mexico City's main square.
The results came after electoral officials worked around the clock to verify ballots from the 2 July poll.
If they would have a revolution in Mexico maybe all the illegals in the USA would go back to Mexico to fight on one side or the other.
As long as it's not here -:))) !
As long as it's not here -:))) !
"center-left candidate" ??
That's actually not true. PAN is center right, with a stong nationalist and pro businesses bent. PRI is center left to left, with definite socialist bent. PRD is far left with communist bent.
"center-left candidate" ??
It's BBC Terminology -:))) Don't try to make a sense out of it. Nothing BBC or other "Mainstream" media says makes much sense -:)))
This is Mexico, and the defeated candidate is an ally of Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. The guns are unlikely to be political, but all too real.
Agreed.
Whoever is elected in Mexico is SUPPOSED to get elected.. or they would be dead..
"I think it will be a blessing in disguise if Obrador wrecks a havoc in Mexico. The US will have no choice but to take a Military control of the US-Mexico border and all the talks of North American Partnership which means creating the equivalent of EU in North America will be buried once and for all. As for Amigos, let them have their revolution on their territory."
I've been thinking the same thing. But I also wonder, do you think it is possible that the US would have played any role in the election of a 'conservative' candidate in order to keep the open borders agenda moving forward? I'm thinking we have far too much invested to let an election get in the way.
I have no idea, Kimberly, if the US has any involvement in pushing Calderon. All I know is that I want the secure US-Mexico border, and I want to live in the United States--not in the North American equivalent of the European Union.
Hopefully the sensible Americans will unite to thwart this another megalomaniac project of the elitists on the North American Union.
It's the spoiled ballots that make me nervous. Taipeitimes.com reports: "IFE president Luis Carlos Ugalde told a news conference on Tuesday that all parties were aware from the beginning that any ballots with 'inconsistencies' would not be included in the preliminary tally, and clarified that the total number of uncounted votes was 2.6 million."
Obragor is just looking for his butterfly ballot and the dimwits who couldn't cast a proper ballot. We all know how they voted.

An illuminating interview with Calderon, post-election. In it he says there are already laws in place, procedures for this kind of dispute, and the opponents want to disregard them.
Really brings back 2000 and the way Baker stood for the rule of law, which the lefties found so inconvenient.
He must be an Al Gore fan.
Basically I think it's because Clinton's crew travels all over the world as campaign managers. Dig far enough and I'm willing to bet you'll find a Carville or a Schrum.
