Why did you choose that particular branch?
There have been members of my family in the Army since the inception of the republic.

Where did you go to Basic Training?
Ft. Benning, GA

Your first parachute jump...
I was scared as hell at first but then loved every second of it. On the next jump I was anxious for the green light. I made several hundred jumps over the years and still miss it.

The largest weapon you got to use
Mk19 grenade launcher

Did you serve before email?
Yes

My son who went to jump school at Bragg in the late '80s reported something similar. As he was standing on line for his first jump, the Sargeant said "are you afraid?" "No," a few moments later, "are you afraid?" "No." At the door "are you afraid?" "No." Then out the door to STARK TERROR in 2 seconds. I don't know how many jumps he has made, but he continued in the Reserves with Jump status after he mustered out. Then he went back in and is now in Afghanistan, probably not jumping though.
