The quarterfinal round concludes with a pair of enticing match-ups. The day's first match pits England against Portugal (10:30 a.m. ET, ABC) in Gelsenkirchen, while a rematch of the 1998 final between Brazil and France (3:00 p.m. ET, ESPN) will wrap the Round of 8.

I wouldn't think a game like this would be in the top 500.
why are you not rooting on Brasil? :)
As an England supporter I am naturally disappointed that they did not win, but they did not play well and the penalty shots were abysmal.
So now, for me, it's GO BRAZIL!!
I was there and he was applauded for the home run in extra innings.
He was booed last night again. It didn't last.
I ´m with you. I was rooting for Spain and before that for Trinidad & Tobago when they played France. But it didn´t help. We simply need to stop Brazil before they win the Cup for the 6th time!
I kinda like France . . . I fondly remember rooting for them in the great 98 Cup. They're a sentimental favorite I guess.
Thought England's play was tremendous a man down. Thought they might get one like they did against the Argyles in 98.
Sad to see valiant warriors like John Terry out.
He was great.
KABC channel 7 in Los Angeles is even being more annoying. They drop out of high definition coverage, to run large black banners about Disney programming for kids being pre-empted, so throughout the match I kept seeing big blocks of HEY KIDS, LILO AND STITCH WILL BE SEEN NEXT SATURDAY.
It´s just that the World Cup has only 64 matches... so "not in the Top 50" makes this game comparable to Tunisia vs. Saudi-Arabia.
Can't say I'm surprised. I'd like for A-Rod to be as good as his stats suggest.
Besides France and Germany staged arugably the greatest game in WC history, so a France-Germany final could be fun.
I think Wimbledon's going on right now, too.
Well, Musberger said "one for the ages," so I was assuming he was comparing it to other World Cup years, not just this year.
I think he means Best World Cup match of all time. Musberger (the US announcer) said it was "one for the ages".
Formula One USGP qualifying on now till the next footie match.
Somehow it's not quite as triumphant as that.
1-1 through the overtimes. They won on penalty kicks.
That's one reason some people hate soccer.
Looking forward to it.
I have 2 options; I can watch it in 1 pub with my ugly mates.
Or in another with this gorgeous Brazilian chuck.
Wonder which I'll choose.
Answers on a postcard, please.
Heh. "One for the ages" probably just means "it's over" in spin-speak. :)
It will be more fun, due to more emotions. We have some checks open ... Elsace and Treaty of Versailles come to my mind. ;-) And, of course, Chirac´s opposition against the Iraq war!!
That's like saying "easily the best film he's ever made."
If the director in question has previously made huge loads of crap, it's faint praise indeed.
