'Therefore Airbus was a wonderful chance for us.'
Lets hope euroland govts continue to subsidise Airbus or the 30% owned by Germany, or more accurately, owned by Daimler-Chrysler, won't be worth the paper it's printed on.
I reckon BAE have picked a wise time to pull out - $4bn in their pocket and they can concentrate on building JSF's and Bradley IFV's for the US military. While passenger airline travel comes and goes, you can always rely on strong sales of anything military, particularly if your customers are American! :D

Look for Bob Geldof to have aid concerts for Scarebus.

"Generally, the U.S. wins the cases it brings, and loses those it does not"
Looking at your pdf file, we have 2 US wins on core issues cases versus the Europeans..all involving..wait for it..bananas!! (3 & 4).
Now about that case (5) involving EU refusal to import US hormone treated beef, the EU countries like France , Brittan, etc are still refusing to import hormone treated US beef, so that WTO win has not done us much good.
Meanwhile the Europeans still refuse to import genetically modified agricultural produce from the US, WTO or no WTO.
And the biggest annoyance of all, the rabid EU continue to massively subsidize the development of aircraft by the corrupt Airbus and Biscay get away with it, with little to fear from the WTO.

The U.S. filed its WTO case against Airbus a little over a year ago. Unfortunately, that means it will be years before the outcome is decided. As for your cherry-picking of the decisions I posted, WTF?

To say nothing of the popularity of the 777 on international flights.

To say nothing of the popularity of the 777 on international flights.Agreed.
However, with the airline trend towards smaller planes running near capacity, the 787 (which replaces the 767) will shine. The 787 will have an incredible range, luxurious interior, superior fuel economy and extremely low operating costs.
Airbus is already dead and does not know it.

I find it very ironic that boeing bet on capitalism and won.
Airbus literally bet on feelings and symbolism over substands with making a super jumbo to just make a super jumbo.
Just goes to show you:
money talks and bs walks,
or
Boeing flies and Airbus dies.
