Let me ask you this: when, prior to last week, was the last time you heard of the Jersey Girls? I cant give a definite answer, which in itself is telling. Not that I was paying any large amount of attention, but there was a lot of noise in between the Afghan and Iraqi campaigns, intense media play building up to the 2004 election, which they did their damndest to throw to Kerry, and then nothing.
Theyd shot their bolt, they had their fifteen minutes and more, and that was the end of it. Until last week when Ann Coulter, acting unilaterally, put them back on the front pages with an attack so obnoxious that it immediately (and unjustly it was the Girls themselves, after all, who debased their victim status for political purposes) threw all sympathy in their direction. A free ticket to a second act. Not to mention providing Madame Hillary with an opportunity to pose as, of all things, the defender of civility.
Thanks a lot, Ann.
Conservatives used to be known for this kind of thing. Much of this was the medias doing at any conservative gathering, be it a gun show or a political convention, reporters will make a beeline for the guy in full camo gear or wearing two dozen anti-UN buttons. But conservatives played their part.
The classic figure here is Coulters idol, Joe McCarthy. Bellowing about Communists you couldnt produce (and it cannot be repeated often enough that McCarthy bagged nobody the Party infiltrators had been cleaned out by the time he showed up) was bad enough. Doing it in an ill-cut Chicago gangland suit with a five-oclock shadow and fifth of Jim Beam under your belt simply turned it into a circus.

What are you? Her publicist? Or just a starry-eyed groupie with zero tolerance for those who don't see the woman the way you do?
Re Carville and Coulter, the author of the posted article (and I) refer to their manner, not the substance of what they say. Both use polemics as their means of communication.
I'm not going to sue you, I just disagree with you. And I pity you for taking your cues from the lying whores of the mainstream media. "Foam at the mouth" is a left-wing meme permanently assigned to Coulter by the Left Establishment. You bristle when I SUGGEST you go to youtube and watch the video (I take it you're not going to, seeing the actual person might upset your belief-system) but you willingly follow the direct marching orders of the Left: Coulter is hereby branded as a foam-at-the-mouth right-wing fanatic and you will all hereby use that designation every time you refer to her.
Yes, sir! As you say, sir!
I think the author is retarded, the only reason you haven't heard of the Jersey girls for a while was there were no races for Democrats to run against yet.
They will reappear in 2006 and 2008 and it won't be because of Ann, it will be because they were going to campaign when it was time anyway.
"Coulter is different."
The Coulter haters love to compare her to every leftie from Carville, to Al Frankin to Michael Moore.
They don't notice that the former constantly lie and that Coulter doesn't.
That minor difference doesn't ever seem to occur to them.
It's very telling.
" What's important is that the process was exposed, the methodology was clearly shown for what it is: just one of many ways the liberals use to stifle free speech. "
Exactly. This contribution is valuable. If she hadn't done it, who would?
Yep. Breitweiser almost certainly will follow through on her promises to run for the Senate.
That's why she is blogging at Zsa Zsa Huffington's site.
"What are you? Her publicist? Or just a starry-eyed groupie with zero tolerance for those who don't see the woman the way you do?"
None of those. I'm someone who challenges lies when I see them parading at facts. (It used to be standard practice around here.)
Understandably, you have a problem with that.
I'm in no position to say what is in the Jersey Widows' hearts as I am not God. This all reminds me of when Carolyn McCarthy of Long Island lost her husband in the LIRR train massacre when madman Colin Ferguson went psycho on a subway. Mrs. McCarthy ran for Congress and won on the gun control issue. I don't recall anyone at the time, even conservatives, say she was glad her husband died so she could parlay her personal tragedy into a political career. I do think Ann Coulter has hurt the conservative cause but only if we let it, if she keeps getting more outrageous and we keep lauding her.
You picked a good name!
She does more to benefit our "cause" than almost everyone in Congress or the media. Her book sales prove it.
You don't move or inspire people by being a milktoast nothing. You move them by using strong, clear language.
In two of the three photographs Ann looks like a cheep Hooker
Dunn apparently haas not read her books and is commenting upon the MSM junk about the lady.
In one of the one sentences you typed there is a typo...
I'll take educated and sexy over pious and judgmental any day.
WWTCD - what would Tucker Carlson do?
Climb under his desk and plead with Jon Stewart to stop being mean to him?
Yeah. And you're obviously qualifed to speak to that, seeing how the spelling of the word "cheap" eludes you.
What a joke the petty moralists are.
You expressed this succinctly. What's more the Jersey Girls are only like one or two lines in the book.
