MSNBC's "Weekends with Maury & Connie" is being cancelled, TVNewser has learned. The program, hosted by Maury Povich and Connie Chung, will end its run next week. The husband and wife team taped their second-to-last show on Friday.
"Weekends" launched almost exactly six months ago, on January 7, 2006. It launched to quite a bit of fanfare, and it aired four times a weekend (twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday) but it never seemed to find an audience. There's no word on whether Maury, Connie, or EP Lizz Winstead will have a future role at MSNBC...

Wonder if IMUS' sudden attack of sanity could be related to the fact that a new man in charge may not put up with idiotic attacks on the President.

It must really suck when you're gone before most know you're even there.

LOL. It takes more time to make a baby than it did to cancel Phil. Most babies have more common sense at birth than Phil has after 60 years too.

MSNBC is in its death throes since MS announced it would stop the subsidy.
Now the shows are jockeying to see which one (if any) will be kept by CNBC.

Wasn't there a rumor a few weeks about that Maury was humpin his assistant?

He has several sexual harrassment suits going. And yes, the word is that he had a long time mistress.

I remember when that ass-clown Olbermann couldn't buy a jock-jock job in Los Angeles...LA sports fans threw him out years ago...

We knew about his show up here in Toronto. His stupid mug was plastered on the sides of buses and seemed to be everywhere for a while. MSNBC seemed to be spending a lot on ads to let Canadians know. How the ad genuises justified that I have no idea since its a market outside the US and couldn't possibly be measured by US ratings in any way. Fortunately it didn't last too long. :)

Make fun of Ann Coulter and get fired, I love it! Who was the bald headed guy on the Today Show who got fired/demoted for laughing at Newt Gingrich on the air? It was years before we saw his ugly face again and when we did he was very subdued.
