I didn't know that. I guess you mean non-resident citizens or even permanent residents? I thought permanent resident get the same benefits as citizens, except they can't vote.

Only American Citizens get the deduction. That is 2 million this year.

If your parents as an example are legal here, but are Japanese and never became citizens and die in a plane accident (God forbid). Their estate would be taxed full on at some low level like 25k.

Many non-citizens don't realize that.
