READ: 2 Chronicles 36:15-21
They mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets. 2 Chronicles 36:16
I love my job, said Maggie, a young nurse, but its so frustrating when I tell people what they need to do to stay healthy and they dont follow my advice.
I smiled in empathy. I felt that way when I started my editorial career, I told her. It was frustrating when authors would disregard the advice I gave them about improving their manuscripts.
Then I realized the spiritual implication. If you and I feel frustrated when people dont follow our professional advice, I said, imagine how God feels when we ignore His. Hes the only One with perfect knowledge of whats good for us, yet we often behave as if we know better.
This was the case in ancient Israel. Thinking that they knew more than God did, the people followed their own way (2 Chronicles 36:15-16). As a result, Jerusalem and the house of God fell into the hands of the Babylonians.
This is also the case with us when Gods instructions seem difficult. We may conclude that He had exceptions in mind for our particular circumstance.
God graciously teaches what is best (Isaiah 48:17-18) but doesnt force us to do it. He patiently presents what is right and good, and allows us to choose it.

Good mornin' Rus! Good to see you here this fine Saturday morning.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend. Are you going to have pretty weather? Ours is...hot, but pretty.
Thank you for our beautiful lesson from God's Word.

Beautiful is a good word for it. Sunny and cool.
Supposed to be in the 60's and breezy.
Hi Meg, Good day to you!
That sounds ideal. The great part of having such a huge "air conditioner" as the lake is right in your front yard, so to speak.
It's supposed to be nearly 100 here. It's not even noon and it's already 93. Gaaaahhh! Have I told you lately how I hate West Texas summers? LOL!
Heat with humidity is not fun.
Yes Lake Erie helps us in the spring and summer but, it can bring extremely bad winters too. Plus it can drag out winters into spring.
I have heat with NO humidity. When the wind blows in the heat it feels like it's searing your skin.
Enjoy it now that your horrible winter is over. Are you just having a family weekend? No work projects? That would be good. Do a little grillin' or just being lazy for a change.
Actually cleaning out my email, just deleted over 100 and down to 70 now.
I have to finish rebuilding a door and am taking pics to make a new web page.
I lived in Arizona and know exactly what your talking about.
Hi luvW here in Dallas area it will be 100 as well but it was very humid this morning.
Daughter and Family lived in Midland, Grandson graduated from Trinity.
Very cool...I probably have seen them. I work in the mall! ;o)
