I don't know how conversations go with your family reunions, but I rarely ask "so how did you vote?"

Generally, I start with "How are you?" We then progress through discussions of my cousins and their children, my children, my brothers and their children, etc.

It is amazing how many things you can talk about without even approaching the topic of politics.
