The conservative politics of the Bush administration forced me to have an abortion I didn't want. Well, not literally, but let me explain.
I am a 42-year-old happily married mother of two elementary-schoolers. My husband and I both work, and like many couples, we're starved for time together. One Thursday evening this past March, we managed to snag some rare couple time and, in a sudden rush of passion, I failed to insert my diaphragm.

Don't do the crime if you can't afford to do the time.
A security check, a crowded waiting room, an hour and a half wait and her whole day ruined. Oh, the humanity - is there no end to the inconveniences that she had to go through to end her child's life?
However, she can take comfort in the fact that she didn't really murder what would have been her third child, it was, in fact, all Bush's fault. Can she ever find it in her heart to forgive him?
What a maroon.
Do you know that Planned Parenthood would actually count this as diaphragm failure? Because she did use a diaphragm at some point during the month she got pregnant?
I fail to see how an intelligent, educated, sober couple in their forties would play roulette with a new human life for a few minutes' passion.
And we don't leave the father out of this, people. He went along with the unprotected sex, and the abortion.
Mrs VS
Sorry, this moonbat isn't talking about RU-482.
This is entirely different. The so-called morning after pill prevents conception, it doesn't abort a concieved embryo. It would have no effect whatsoever after conception.
Sorry to disappoint.
Oh you people are just so insensitive. Can there be any doubt in your minds that President Bush is at fault because he didn't insert her diaphragm for her, or at least, send a personal representative from the White House to do it? It is simply scandalous how far the Republicans will go to do things that complicate the lives of such decent and caring people like this ditz. Well, I guess that is what illegal aliens are for, inserting diaphragms into citizens who won't do it for themselves.
Can't help but feel tremendously sorry for the two children.
Hey Dana what was the reason for telling us all the private details of your getting preggers? When you have nothing to say don't say it! (Bush made you a victim indeed,sigh....)!
The morning after pill can also prevent implantation of an embryo. That's why some pharmacists and physicians want nothing to do with it.
Mrs VS
Exactly. Most women know about the birth control pill thing.
After reading the entire article, (gag) I have to conclude that it is a fake.
Are they REALLY that hard up to find something else to bash Bush for?
Global Warming -- no doubt the problem with the weather. If Kerry had been president well we'd all have our pills and great weather every day.
That this woman is a lawyer is not a surprise -- that she feels that every event in life is the governments problem is very sad.
I wonder who she'd blame if some prior sexual felon raped one of her kids and it was determined that the reason that the predator was even on the streets was because of some liberal judge!
One Thursday evening this past March, we managed to snag some rare couple time and, in a sudden rush of passion, I failed to insert my diaphragm.
All the while, I was thinking that if religion hadn't been allowed to seep into American politics the way it has, I wouldn't even be there. This all could have been stopped way before this baby was conceived if they had just let me have that damn pill.
Yeah Dana, it's religion's fault! You're absolutely crazy.
Here's a thought, move to some other country and see how much "freer" you are. Since this seems to be the pivotal issue in your life perhaps China would be a nice spot for you to settle down. You wouldn't even have two girls if you lived there b/c the "non-religious" state would have terminated the second one for you.
Better yet, move to an Islamic ruled nation and see how your "rights as a woman" stack up there Dana! In all likelihood you'd have been forced to have a clitorectomy years ago making that "couple time" how shall we say, "less than enjoyable."
You're a ditz!
I see a new government agency here! Yeehah!
(Also, eeeewwwww....)
Hey sweetie .. how about taking personal responsibility ??
If you really didn't want to have more children .. there is also the snip snip option that you or your hubby could have had done
It used to be that the lib's all wanted the US of A to be just like Denmark. Everything goes in Denmark -- we now know Denmark has its Muslim problems because of its social open door and soon if they don't do something sharia law.
Canada used to be considered but they're getting conservative too. It just seems that the liberals have to stay here and bit*h. And that is what this woman seems like is a horrible bit*h.
I failed to insert my diaphragm
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Yep! Certainly Bush's fault.
IUD setters Ping ;~)
10-1 says this story is a fabrication.
Moreover, they aren't even required to tell the patient why they won't provide the drug. Nor do they have to provide a list of alternative sources. I had asked the ob-gyn's receptionist if politics was the reason the doctor wouldn't prescribe Plan B for me. She refused to answer or offer any reason, no matter how much I pressed her. By the time I got on the phone with my internist's office and found that he would not fill a Plan B prescription either, I figured it was a waste of time to fight with the office staff. To this day, I don't know why my doctors wouldn't prescribe Plan B -- whether it was because of moral opposition to contraception or out of fear of political protesters or just because they preferred not to go there.>
Translation: This woman wants the government to force doctors, midwives, and pharmacists to violate their most closely held beliefs. She wants the government to use the threat of armed police action ( that IS what government law is) to violate the consciences of other so that she can have her whims fulfilled.
