Remember this next time someone wants to run a rino for office, they don't worry about the Constitution either.

What they should do is prevent the MSM from coming in after any disaster to spread their lies .... that'd be safer ....

"I'm afraid the outcome of another attempted confiscation anywhere in our country is going to be quite different."

If law enforcement in time of national/regional emergency expend effort on confiscating legally owned firearms, then they cease to be law enforcement officials and become criminals ... and should be treated as such by law abiding citizens.

I wonder if Chief Riley was one of those who was "confiscating" payroll checks of the non-existent New Orleans policemen.

Well his police force did a good job of confiscating cars, TV's, and anything of value during Katrina, so I guess they are experienced in confiscating things.

Confiscated, I thought the operative word for the new Orleans cops was stealing.

So with cops turning the city over to armed hooligans, cops abandoning their posts, cops looting the city, cops no where to be found outside an abandoned Walmart, they are going to seize weapons from homeowners.

The last thing a cop wants, when he's looting, is to run into an armed citizen.

My shooters club held a CCW class. The instructor was telling the students that home-invasion robbers are starting to wear body armor, so it's best to practice head shots.

I offered up that you can tell the gangbangers by their gang initials, they wear them on the backs of their shirts.

It says

ATF

“During a circumstance like that, we cannot allow people to walk the street carrying guns…as law enforcement officers we will confiscate the weapon if a person is walking down the street and they may be arrested,” Riley said.

~~~~~~~~~~
If the citizen is legally licensed to carry, and has their piece properly concealed, what is he gonna do? Frisk them?
That sounds like an invitation to a lot of blue-uniformed funerals...
If I were a LEO, I would refuse to work under that idiot, Riley!
That place is hopeless.
Ding Ding Ding
You have won the understatement of the year award!
Nagin, Blanco, Landrieau and the police chief are dumber than rocks. Another replay of last year? (rolling eyes)
Screw the constitution.
Sort of like Mrs. Clinton saying that when she is in charge she'll have to take monies from working fools to pay for what she thinks is necessary.
Where do they come up with ignorants like these?
In an interview with WWL Radio, Riley said his officers would seize guns from people on the streets if another storm was to hit New Orleans.
“During a circumstance like that, we cannot allow people to walk the street carrying guns…as law enforcement officers we will confiscate the weapon if a person is walking down the street and they may be arrested,” Riley said.
This is pure, illegal caca. When natural disasters strike one of the most effective ways law abiding citizens prevent looting and other crimes is by openly carrying and displaying loaded arms. This creep wants to help the looters.
“God spared a lot of people in this storm, he also spared a lot of violent people who were committing violent crimes with firearms,” one ATF agent said regarding the confiscation of weapons during Katrina.
This is correct...and the logical conclusion that any sane individual would draw from it is that one had damned well be armed to protect one's self, family and property (including survival gear and supplies) from those violent, armed people.
Chief Riley said Friday that officers would not again enter people’s homes to seize weapons.
Mainly because they don't wish to be the main source of attention at the next funeral their family attends.
